My husband and myself with two of our friends go into the Lion most mornings for coffees and find. Ricky and the staff very friendly and at 99pence for coffee the coffee is excellent value when you are a pensioner.

I've been coming here for a long time now and even before the change it's been a brilliant night out friendly staff and has a great atmosphere! Me and my girlfriend will be coming back here again soon! The way the pub has been done out is amazing, it really needed a change! Well done for the heard work put into getting it up to the standard it is today! ����. Weekends here a FAB!!

i had a great night saturday for my birthday but i must say the girl serving wasnt very nice never smiled looked at you as if she didnt want to be there and seemed like she didnt know what she was doing as she over charged n my cocktails was different every time even though i had same cocktail

Was good to see security checks being carried out in full, bag searches and full body searches @stourbridgelion. Well done to the security staff ��

This pub is a lovely pub friendly staff and customers I have used it on several occassions in the past without any issues however, I visited here today with a friend and was left very, very embarrased by the fact that I was asked for ID by the bar staff I have been using this pub before it even became the Stourbridge Lion and was called the Edward Rutland. I am 26 years old and don't expect to be treated like an 18 year old. I admit I don't look 26 but I do look over the age of 18 which is the legal age for drinking. The response from the girl who was serving was "I'm 29 and I still get asked for ID". So because your bar staff get asked for ID that means they have to ask everybody else for it then? I wouldn't mind I even have tattoos which were quite clearly visible although I accept there not offical legal forms of identification but, you have to be 18 to have a tattoo by law.



I will most definately be making a complaint to head office about this incident as I could understand if I looked about 12 but, I can go into any other pub including any weatherspoons without any problems of being served alcohol I personally feel that the reason I was asked for ID was to belittle me and make me feel small in front of my friend it had nothing to do with the fact I didn't look old enough.

Good night,cheap drink but thought the door staff handled situations badly..saw a few breaks outs, door staff handled a situation unfair as a young lad was asked to leave he exceped it and was willing to walk away when the one doorman refused and said i will will use force then around 5 door staff grabbed the lad and was hitting him but out the way of camras..i mean 5 against 1 bit unfair when the lad was walking out anyway...dont think I will be going again

Generally not to bad here. Friday nights are quieter Saturdays alot busier

Dance and garage + jack played earlier on, then other stuff later. ( Usually).

DJ" s are brilliant @ mixing. ~~> Just wish they would occasionally introduce old classics

Like: Sandstorm.for an angel.ten in one insomnia.the silence. Moving too fast etc..etc.

Just a few would make me and my friends happy bunny's!!!

First time since was the old lloyds and must say the layout was much better however the dj still plays the same tunes every week. There were at least 4 tunes played more than once during the night it felt as though he only had a small choice of music and as somebody who been a dj at likes of living room and places like stonemanor it was a shame.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon two drunk idiots fighting In the doorway of the pub. Serious lack of management skills. Who even is the manager in this dive? Poor bar staff and even worse door staff. Went in Thursday night.my partner asked the barman for some ice he called her a bitch said I don't, get paid enough for this shit, I, my going for a smoke."Manegment of this pub abysmal ,can,then belive the brewery spent all that money to turn it into a dive .

So last night was my second time I have visit this place come here couple Saturdays ago it was alright but then last night I understand that you have to show your i'd at the door after 7, I gave them my i'd I get told that the picture on MY i'd isn't me, erm I find it is, the picture was took nearly 3 years ago, the only thing was is different is my hair colour, I was blonde on the picture now I am dark brown, then they said my eyes look different, I had a bit of make up on and my glasses last night, and put a little bit of weigh on ny face since that picture, you can tell its me on my i'd but everyone knows you cant wear make up or your glasses when you have a picture took for your provisional driving licence, so they wouldn't let me in, but the thing is I came in a couple weeks ago, looking the same but I got in, but last night the wouldn't let me in,

I understand they are trying to do their job, but come on,that's stupid, went to another place in the end, I was talking to the man on the door at that place and they said they have had a couple people from the lion come up there as they wasn't allowed in for nearly the same reason. I have never had problem with my i'd before, I am nearly 20 so I have nearly been using it for 2 years now, don't see why it is a problem now when I used it to get in there the other weekend.

Rude bar staff.

A family member of mine got called “fucking bitch” after she asked for ice to be added to her drinks �.

Bar staff spend more time out back smoking then behind bar.

Heard customer report to bar staff that someone had vomited on floor only for bar staff to say “what do you want me to do about it”

Won’t be returning again nor recommending

Overall this pub isn't too bad, the drinks prices are excellent but often find the bar understaffed so takes a while to get served. If you're up for watching a bit of sport this pub will certainly cater for your needs with many to screens showing sport throughout the day. Friday and Saturday nights in this pub are average, you can expect to see a steady flow of drinkers of all ages attend the venue for a mixture of cheesy pop music and other disco classing from a playlist which hasn't changed since the Lloyds days! In my opinion the £3 entry fee is not really worth the money for what is a very average night out! The drinks are however slightly cheaper. Overall 3* about right.
