Wow thanks for an amazing Christmas dinner everyone � would just like to say the three courses were beautiful. I wasn’t sure that there would be enough but I couldn’t eat it all! Hope the staff have a lovely day! Thanks for working Christmas Day!

Wonderful service and great food good choice of beers most probably the best pub in the area .

My husband and I have had a lovely meal this afternoon and the staff are very friendly and polite would really recommend

We were given a table for five but it was a bit of a squeeze the waitress then came over to say she knew friends on a bigger table and asked them to swap. We waited half hour for table but this is expected on Saturday night. Food was very good we all left full and happy 😃 reasonably priced. Nice place nice atmosphere

We had a lovely Easter Sunday lunch here yesterday. The service was great and the food was hot and very tasty. We have been here quite a few times and look forward to our next visit.

Visited tonight with a group of 15 service was very good waitress was very good ..had a rump steak and got to say it was not the best I've had very chewy ... others had steak and we all agreed it wasn't as good as we would expect from a good pub .but don't want to put people off as service was great maybe just need to look at steak quality

Nice food . We all cleared our plates, 2 adults 3 children. I had duo of lamb , was very tasty and food came out nice and hot �

Service was good tho could of been a little more attentive as waited a while for someone to take our order. Other than that it was all fine much better than my visit a few yrs back !

Had a very relaxing evening here Saturday evening. Meal very nice but steak was not the best. However, we did choose the cheaper steak, so guess you get what you pay for. We had to wait about twenty minutes for table and we're not approached for our order for a while. In fairness though, it was extremely busy. Could not fault the staff, from bar to restaurant. Overall, we enjoyed our evening and will visit again.

The first time there in 2 years because my last meal was awful. Went with 3 friends. Several items we ordered they didn't have. The service was so slow it was embarrassing. The food we did have was OK but overpriced for what it was. We won't bother going back.

Sorry guys but you really need to up your game!

Been frequenting the Otter for the past 10yrs+ but tonight was very disappointing. At 7pm was only offered a 'bar' table for 2 so no service! Accepted; Not been since August but we, on Oct 2nd, were offered the Summer Menu!! Meal (only a main) was slower than usual being served. It was only 'warm', possibly been held a little longer than necessary. The fish batter was extremely soggy so not enjoyable at all & left! The rump steak was cooked rare as requested but much of it was pure gristle. Unusually no one approached us to see if all was ok whilst we were eating. We spent a good 10-15mins with finished (though not clean) plates but as no one attempted to clear them we went to the bar to settle-up! We were asked if everything was ok to which we did respond negatively. 'Phil' (manager) was called to hear our complaint. We waited 5+ minutes in which time he was contacted twice but failed to appear. We threatened this review & were asked not to!! We paid up & left.

Have been coming to this pub for a number of years and lately have favoured the sticky sharing platter - was disappointed with this tonight as it appears the menu has changed slightly - one of the items has been changed (stuffed peppers removed and calamari in its place ) and portion reduction - however the price is the same ??? Won’t be returning in a hurry - shame as it’s a lovely pub in a great location

Food not that good chicken very dry and gammon not cooked enough for me, waited ages at the bar to be served when not busy at all ....

Went for my wife's birthday meal on Friday night. The waitress was so busy that so thought by talking so quickly we would order quickly. This was not the case as we had no idea what she was saying. For a new menus that came out on Monday 2nd, it was disappointing that 3 of the main courses we asked for, you did not have. Have to say we will not be returning in the foreseeable future.

Not impressed by the Tame Otter at all. First impressions weren’t great when ordering a drink and sadly, it slowly got worse from there. Bar staff poured a glass of foam cider into a new one which then tasted like dish water. Menu is overpriced for the quality you receive. It is beautifully decorated and the layout was impressive, just very awkward when only one other couple eating during peak dinner time. Extremely underwhelming

I came on Sunday afternoon with my wife and young daughters. When we came in I asked if there was a table free, there was the waitress said she’d come and clear it in a couple of minutes as it had the previous diners food and drinks on it. That’s fine. After 25 minutes we cleared it ourselves and put it next to the bar, still there when we left an hour later.



We had a round of drinks, it’s a lovely pub with a nice atmosphere so went to get another round of drinks and agreed we’d get dinner as well. I stood at the bar, it started to get a bit busy and after waiting my turn for quite some time had three other people served before me despite the bar maid acknowledging that I was waiting. Each of these had arrived well after me.



The first I let go, on the second I’d stated I was next when she asked and despite being stood in front on me walked to the other end of the bar to serve some one... on the third I suggested politely that I’d been next but she continued to serve them and said I’ll come to you when I’m ready. At this point I told her not to bother. I’d waited nearly 15 minutes at this point.



Suffice to say we didn’t order food or drinks and left. To be fair to the barmaid there just weren’t enough staff - but I don’t think my expectations are unreasonable.



We’d had a lovely family afternoon and my kids were genuinely upset that we weren’t staying as were my wife and I.



I’m not sure if we’ll come back and I wouldn’t recommend to others on the basis of this visit.

Booked a table for family meal, 16 people. Had phone call to ask us to delay table by half hr as party before had run late. No problem, arrived had to wait, starter just warm enough to eat. Followed by Turkey dinner that was cold, long wait between courses. Cutlery dirty, high chair for baby unsafe with no safety straps. Will not be returning, staff polite but service slow.

Went for boxing day meal and the food that was served was disgusting it came out cold, the meat was like rubber and looked vile.



The staff were great dealing with the problem but had to change the menu around as they couldn’t supply the original menu.



All in all I will not be returning there as we was there for 3 hours and ruined the night by the disgusting food.
