Amazing Breakfast Experience with Halwa Puri 😊😊👌👌

User

A must try place for all desi food lovers. They do halwa poori choley breakfast on weekends, and I make it a point to try that whenever I am in Birmingham. My other favourites are Haleem and seekh kebabs. Everything is very fresh and tasty.

I purchased samosas, kachoori and katalamas.

All three well spiced and filled.

Katalama was greasy but still crispy. I think it may have stayed in the fryer too long or packed on top of each other.

Samosas were punjabi style, lots potato and spice. The pastry drier than the crispy type im used too from nwfp. But still delicious to eat.

Kachoori was the first time i had them and these were lovely.

Mint sauce could do with being sweeter.

Red sauce is top notch.

Bargain for pakistani snacks and foods. Will go again.

User

ok so i ordered mixed grill with large portion of their special pilau that came with 2 chkn legs and shami kebabs. Rice tastes superb but sheekh kebab, chicken tikka and legs on rice were not freshly cooked. My suggestion is that always instruct them to cook fresh or be ready to eat crispy dry. Falooda is good.

User

Not a great experience. Very dated with insufficient extractor fan system. Too much smoke when busy. Had ordered 4 or 5 omelette but not sure what it was when arrived

User

Need some refurbishment, very expensive

Taste of Pakistan, Birmingham

1. Pay and Display parking opposite.

2. Seating upstairs and downstairs. Conditions of tables and chairs are poor. Don't expect beautiful decor. This is not that place. Quite grotty to be frank.

3. Families are allowed to sit upstairs but food has to be ordered downstairs.

4. Ordered 1/2kg Lamb Karahi, Chicken Tikka, Chicken Pakora, fries and a variety of Nans and rotis.

5. Service is non existent. Nobody checked to see if the food was OK or if we wanted water etc.

6. The chicken pakoras were rock solid. Disgraceful if I may say. Just by looking at them you could tell. Any decent restaurant would never have served these to customers. Appalling.

7. The lamb Karahi, chicken tikka and tandoori breads were very nice but the chicken pakoras spoiled everything.

8. After nobody had checked up on us I went downstairs to request service asking for the remainder of the food to be bagged up. I was told to bring the food downstairs and they would do it.

Not impressed. Not on my recommendation list unfortunately. It's great to have pictures of the Pakistani national Anthem pasted everywhere and Quaid-e-Azam but it's ironic how the service reflected that which you would get at the Pakistani consulate in Birmingham.
