Went to the Tots session this morning and it was great! Neither myself nor my little boy have skated before but Natalie the member of staff on duty was really helpful and kind. We had fun and hopefully will be able to come again. I'm even thinking about lessons now! Thank you.

User

I haven't skated for years and agreed to go along with my daughter who had skated to a decent standard. We went to the adult skate session where coaching is included. As everyone was so much better than me, I had extensive coaching and quickly gained confidence and was really enjoying it by the end of the session when free coffee and biscuits were laid on the wind the session down..

All the staff and other customers were really friendly & helpful and I can't wait to go again next week.

User

Had no problems friendly staff great laugh all very welcoming great night x

User

I used to come here alot as a teenager, so I thought I'd take my 7 yr old on a Saturday morning public skate. He absolutely loved it. The skating was great although it is a little expensive and the hire boots aren't the best. The biggest gripe for me is that you have got to wait outside in all weathers until the start of the session 10:30 for us, why can't the public be let in to get ready, boots on etc, and then wait inside by the rink until allowed on to the ice.

Reading your previous reviews I'm sure they would all agree that this would enhance the whole experience some what.

I would have given 5 stars.

User

But on an ice hockey night you need more bins, it was announced to put your rubbish in bin but they were overflowing not a good look, make sure loos are all lockable & plenty of loo roll!

User

Went to Telford ice rink as the parent of one of the Coventry Blaze under 11's players. I would like to make a sergestion or two if I can. One, please do something about the rodent problem you have at the rink, a rat ran through a hole in the wall of the shower cubicle in the away changing room, two for the love of God turn that bloody music down at the end of the game, trying to get over excited kids organised at the end of a game ensuring that they have all their kit is hard enough, without having to shout every conversation. Plus there was Telford parents trying to console their children after their defeat ( it actually matters to some of the kids), hardly easy when the parent is having to bellow at the child to be heard. It's an ice rink for crying out loud not a night club

User

Went for the ice hockey as my team were up here for the evening. Not impressed to have to wait outside when it was obvious there was a big crowd due and common sense surely says get them in early and create the right atmosphere as soon as possible. Especially when you are told that the rink has been empty since at least 3.30pm !! Also, it's bad planning to give the away fans seating to extra home fans and then have to move those fans when the away fans arrive. What impression for all does that create ? And finally, it's all very well giving away lots of free tickets BUT at least give them to people who either know what team they are playing, are actually watching the game or worst of all, realise that the Tigers won the title as well as the game. It's a poor show all round if you have to give away freebies just to fill the rink....but on previous visits, its obvious that hockey isn't that popular in Telford. Even local newspaper coverage is just as apathetic to covering the team over a season, winners, champs or also rans........

User

Toilets discussing. Also very expensive. We came when Easter bunny was skating round, no acknowledgement of my kids. Found quite rude they waved and were ignored.

User

The facilities really need a tidy up & refreshing! Toilets are terrible & my daughter refused to use them! It is really out of date & quite expensive for the facilities available!

User

Staff can be difficult to find, very slow to get access to the disabled lift. Toilet hygiene can leave a bit to be desired at times too.

User

I love this rink but service staff are letting it down. Tables in the cafe area are not cleared or cleaned frequently enough Toilets are often grubby.

‘Rinkies’ are helpful and understanding

I find this rink well positioned with handy parking.

Don’t let care of this lovely place get forgotten in the race to renovate the this whole area

User

I am here quite often, the facilities are ok, it's annoying that they won't let you in to pay and get skates on until the time and also the price includes skate hire; this should change and the price to get in reduced and then pay extra for your skates (like most other ice rinks). The ice needs to be better maintained and 'flooded' more often as it is sometimes like a piece of sandpaper

User

Due to a disappointing day out yesterday as only half of the family could go ice skating...due to no skate aids left. So having to sit on the side as didn't want to risk ourselves without an aid. ..I must admit my daughter and her friend enjoyed it. The disco for them was good. Must say though 8 skate aids....which I counted when on rink, between about 200 people...well unbelievable isn't the word. Lots of people were dissapointed including children. May I suggest more aids for the amount of people and how big the place is. Won't be rushing back anytime soon. Have already emailed you yesterday and would like a part refund for the 2 adults that couldn't skate. Very dissapointed.

User

Toilets are never very clean i try not to use them. The seating is very bad they are all breaking one by one people report them but nothing gets done. The rink and cafe is very dirty don’t know how the counsel get away with it other places would be closed down until it was made better.

User

There are a couple of the rinkies that are always really helpful friendly and do help when they can. The problem with ice rink is the lack of customer service skills. I have found several of the desk staff quite rude and quite abrupt with customers. It has been known for customers to be stood waiting to order skating tickets or spectator tickets and the desk staff have been talking about illness or children. Not very professional at all.

User

The rink following the £4 million revamp is already looking tired.

Could really do with a little spruce up, lots of black marks at both ends of the rink from flying pucks, the away teams bench back wall is also damaged and pockets marked. Some of the silver lining to the ceiling is also coming adrift. Also get the toilets in the far end of the rink (behind the bar) updated, new toilets, some soap and a couple of working hand dryers would be nice for starters. Who ever oversaw the refurbishment wants a kick in the pants for not doing this when the other work was carried out.

Also any chance of another pair of hands in the cafe? The lady in there last night was rushed off her feet and then still had to sweep the seating area whilst the crowds were leaving last night.

So come on TWC sort it out and make it smart again.

My family and I came skating on Thursday evening to the public session. My 3 children aged 11,9 and 3 all skated alongside my husband and I. We as a family are confident skaters apart from our 3 year old who is learning. My 9 year old was knocked over from behind and badly injured her knee, to the point where we had to leave. I was very disappointed and shocked that there wasn't any rink staff on the ice or around the rink side at all during the session. There were a few lads that were speed skaters on the ice and they were skating very fast and weaving in and out of skaters which I found very dangerous. This is how my daughter was knocked over from behind. Had this been my 3 year old daughter the outcome may have been very serious. The importance of a rink staff on the ice is the main issue here to stop people skating dangerously and assist people if they are hurt. You wouldn't not have a life guard at a swimming baths!!

User

Went to Telford ice rink yesterday for my niece's birthday and was very disappointed! My sister in law phoned Telford ice rink a week before and asked if she would need to book the tots session as both our children have not ice skated before to be told no need to book just turn up at 10 children are free adults to pay if they wish to join children on ice! When arriving at 10am session was fully booked 😡The lady on the desk was rude and said you will have to go and que outside now for half hour, no apology for wrong information given just her huffing and saying look I need to get these in first for there session! For 2 adults and 3 children this cost us around £51 which obviously we was not expecting after being told the kids was free. Staff need some lessons in customer service.

User

Expensive for what it is which ud probably explained why its never packed. Always delays on entrance when paying, usually takes about 10-15mins to get in as theres hardly ever any staff on. Theres no system in place either for collecting boots/collecting shoes. One shutter open for folks to collect boots or shoes- its carnage with no queue or sectioned. There should be 2 windows, 1 for boot collection, 1 for shoe collection. Also not enough snowmen/penguin aids available for a lengthy enough time available. How are aids for children suitable for 30mins in a 5 hour public skating session? I think it could be a great ice rink if it was run properly- I for one could make it a great skating venue thats for sure. It was a much better rink before the revamp. Whilst the kids enjoy skating its just an uneccessary faff/day out and costs us 2 adults and 2 6yr olds £38.00 in the week for the pleasure. Before the revamp we used to go weekly without fail. Since the revamp we have been twice.

The only good thing going for it is the size of the rink and its locality.
