Went for an anniversary celebration champagne afternoon tea. All the staff were charming. The quality of food and presentation was out of this world. We are certainly going back soon I would recommend The Apple Tree to anyone.

This place is a little gem. The staff are fantastic, they certainly know their customer service. They make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door. Very accommodating with little kids. The food, well wow, I had the goats cheese salad and it was amazing. My kids who are very fussy enjoyed their food also. The coffee is tremendous as well. Don't bother visiting any surrounding places as this is the place to come.

The Apple Tree hosted our engagement party last night. We could not have asked for a better team to look after us and our guests.



Everything was thought of! The food was gorgeous, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff really went out of their way to ensure we had the best time possible.

Really love this place! Amazing attention to detail and creative menu with gluten and lactose-free options available. I particularly enjoyed the flavoured hot chocolate and Gareth was the perfect host, asking about our preferences. Highly recommend!

Love this place! A lovely meeting place where you are guaranteed to get a warm welcome, pleasant and helpful staff and good food and coffee. Great place to celebrate a special occasion with a champagne breakfast or afternoon tea in a fabulous setting! A little touch of class! Thanks everyone!

I love the Apple Tree its so nice to have this lovely coffe shop/delicatessen literally on my door step lovely staff and food.

Fresh food and very delicious , the best coffee ,the best hot chocolate and its a beautiful and relaxing place

Fantastic location to enjoy exquisite cakes washed down with exhilarating coffee and hot chocolate. Staff are extremely welcoming also and would recommend this place to anybody wanting to treat themselves to a bit of luxury!

I went to a musical evening. It was very pleasant. I enjoyed the nachos which were covered in cheese and more. A bit pricey, but that won't put me off returning again. I thought I'd try the chilli con carne as a lady I knew there had that and she said it was delicious. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We had been looking forward to using vouchers for afternoon tea bought for myself and three friends. On arriving the greeting was welcoming and we were shown to our pre-booked table. As part of the afternoon tea there was an option of unlimited tea or 2 cups of coffee per person. All four of us opted for unlimited tea and were quickly served with 2 large pots of tea. Following this two cake stands holding a selection of sandwiches and cakes arrived at the table. It was a little disappointing not to have been asked which fillings for sandwiches we would like as one of us only liked 2 of the 4 options and 3 of us didn't like one option at all. However we made the best of it and enjoyed the ones we ate.

The main criticism of this review was that once the sandwiches, cakes and tea had been served we were not visited at all by a member of staff to see if all was ok or if indeed we would like more of the unlimited tea. Twice one of us had to leave our table to ask for two more pots of tea, yet each time we received only one pot. Had two pots been received at the first time of asking we would not have had to request yet another pot. On receiving the last pot of tea we had decided that we would also like to order a glass of prosecco each (we were celebrating after all), however the young man who brought the tea just walked away as I began to ask to add the drinks to our order. We decided not to bother.

Although we still enjoyed the food and our time at The Apple Tree Coffee Shop the service was the worst I have received anywhere for quite sometime and thus is reflected in the 3 stars awarded above.

Was a little disappointed with the lack of selection in the afternoon tea. Had one scone each (which was lovely although they forgot to give us cream!) and then one cake to share with my friend so we had to cut it in half. Not a patch on other afternoon teas we've had.

Lovely inside, lady on the till was more that welcoming. Ordered carrot cake which was so dry and the end was hard, took it back and asked for an exchange which they did but not even a sorry about that off the young girl who was the waitress. 2nd attempt and this time a different cake still very dry. My daughter loved her milkshake though and sprinkle cake. Would not visit again.

Usually nice place! Today not so! Waited 20 minutes for a coffee. We were told it was busy and there was a wait but u wud imagine that was for food not two drinks!!! We had a refund and walked out as we werent waiting any longer. They shouldn't allow so many people to go in there if they cant accommodate everyone.

Usually much better! Salad was disappointing as the lettuce was incredibly bitter, was told there would be a 30 minutes wait for food but had to go chase it after 45 minutes, plus we were given dirty glasses for our drinks. A disappointing visit.

Slightly disappointed with food quality. Portions very small (jacket potato with chilli and cheese) literally a table spoon of chilli and a sprinkle of cheese.

Nacho portion is shop bought Doritos with same brand salsa. Over grilled cheese on top made it difficult to eat.

No one asked if we were happy with food during meal which is unusual these days.

Pate portion too small with amount of average under toasted shop bought white sliced loaf!

Salad acceptable and fresh.

Wouldn’t go on a regular if I’m try honest when other establishments are offering better food and service. Sorry to say.

Will not be going again. Don't like being told off for ordering my lunch for myself and child a few minutes before 12. Best bit was by the time the poor girl on the till had took my order and I had paid it was 12 anyway. The poor girl who severed me was told off too

. Think the women who did the yelling needs to go on a customer service course. Shame as it's a lovely place and the rest of the staff were lovely, just one women who spoilt it.

Very poor, would actually say nasty members of staff who like to humiliate people if they complain .... should have checked trip adviser first!!
