Built in 1856, The Cottage has been Blackpool's most famous Fish & Chip shop since 1920.

AT THE COTTAGE CHIPPY WE ONLY USE CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL !!!!! The world cannot stop using palm oil as other crops cannot pick up the shortfall. As a result of Chester zoo's conservation work in Borneo the way forward is to only use 100 percent certified sustainable palm oil.
The story of the plight of the orangutang and the loss of rainforest through deforestation is what we read about on social media.... The plight of people especially forced child labour is largely ignored.
It is only through working with plantations and growers supporting them and helping them that sustainable palm oil is achievable.
If we all walk away the situation will become worse, for the environment, wildlife and people.
At The Cottage you can be confident that we audit the supply chain and only fry in palm oil that is helping to protect the rainforest, the habitats of many species including orangutangs and safeguarding the exploitation of children and communities.
Next time you eat fried food ask what the oil is and is it certified sustainable.
By 2020 that is the 100th birthday of The Cottage it is possible that with government support that the whole of the UK can be using 100 percent sustainable palm oil.

To celebrate our card machine gremlins being exorcised from the building , we are having a competition. Every customer who uses a credit or debit card to pay for their meal at the cottage between 1st August to 7th August 2018 will be given a ticket. The drawer will take place on 8th August and the lucky ticket will be announced on Facebook and also in the shop all you have to do is check your number bring us your ticket and £50 cash is yours!!!
