About The Cottage Of Content

The Cottage of Content, Traditional Olde English Village Public House with Traditional values. Home cooked food and an ever changing selection of real ales

The Cottage Of Content Description

We are a Tradition village public house offering a unique atmosphere, real ales, fine wine, and good traditional home cooked food in a stunning rural location.

We are rated with the GOLD award for food hygiene by Stratford Council Environmental Health Department and we have achieved the accolade of winning the CAMRA award for best seasonal pub in the Shakespeare area of CAMRA (Autumn 2011).

We have live music nights, folk nights with acoustic musicians jamming together. We also hold various events over the year to help fund raise for local charities.

We are situated in the hamlet village of Barton, just 1 mile from Bidford on Avon, a stones throw from the river itself. 6 miles from Stratford upon Avon, 9 miles from Broadway, 6 miles from the market town of Evesham and just 15 miles from Warwick and its famous Castle.

Our touring campsite at the back of the pub is licensed for 24 pitches, each with electric and water hook up. Rates are based on per pitch per night and for 2013 our prices will be £18. 00 per night inc electric hook up , shower, and toilet facilities. See our website for further details.

So the news you have all been waiting for !! The elf’s name ! We have had lots of suggestions and the only fair way to decide was to pull the name out of an elf’s hat ! And the winner is ............ George ! This actually works well as it was a previous landlords name and also the name of our resident ghost ! Thank you all for taking part and the winner Matthew Ward - please join us for a drink.

Our naughty elf was caught sunbathing today under the chefs heat lamps !

What a lovely place in a pretty little village with quaint cottages. We (2 couples) arrived Saturday & pitched the tents, had a ride into Evesham then back to the site for a chilled out afternoon drinking & laughing by our firepit. A lovely peaceful site & went for a walk out the back of the site & found the river a couple of minutes walk away. Dog friendly site with good amenities......2 good sized wet rooms, washing up area & washing machine & tumble drier available to use for a small cost. The pub is lovely with friendly staff & a traditional menu & Saturday night there's music on too. Had a great stay & will definitely be returning for another chilled out camping trip ☺

User

Well great place great food and great food what else do you need well worth the visit and made very welcome by all can't wait till November when we go back. Lloyd

We had my grandads 80th here, on the night of the music festival back in May. I was concerned that being 18 of us and a garden full of people there would be problems. BUT.. Everything was perfect. All the food came out together and hot (and delicious). They got all our orders spot on, and couldn't of been more helpful.

Thank you so much :)

User

Thank you to Julia and the staff we had a lovely weekend of camping 9-11th June 2017 and had dinner at the pub twice and it was very nice, everywhere was clean and tidy and extremely doggy friendly . There's a lovely walk along the river to the nearest takeaway, convenience shop etc which takes about 15mins.

Fantastic pub in a beautiful setting

Beer was great at a decent price

Did not eat but the Sunday lunch looked nice

Went when they had a boxer dog show

Loads of room for kids to burn off steam

Very close to a nice rural walk

If in area you must give it a go

If you live in area your very lucky

User

Fabulous place, good home-cooked, honest food at reasonable prices. Real ales and ciders with the added bonus of being both dog & vape friendly! Campsite at the rear, with clean, modern facilities & free Wi-Fi in the pub. Has everything we need. Love it so much we're spending the summer here!

User

Anywhere that can make you feel so welcome, serve a perfect pint, generate a fun and friendly atmosphere, fill your belly and not rape your wallet at the end of the evening... justifies the full 5 stars. Thank you Jules... you’re a star

User

camped here from Friday to Monday with a group of friends and had s lovely weekend. Staff are very friendly. We had the Sunday lunch which was plentiful and tasty definitely eat there again. My only grumble would be if you are camping in a tent the washing facilities are a bit limited, sinks are too small to wash in although you can use the one sink in the pub toilet but that feels a bit weird and after showering I couldn't find anywhere to Plug in a hairdryer. These are the only reasons I didn't give Five stars.

User

When I asked a local where they would recommend to take the family for a meal that was dog friendly, they recommended the Cottage of Content.

We were only on a short break to the area and ended up eating in there 2 of the nights.

Good food, good beer and welcoming staff.

We’ll be back next time we’re down that way.

Nice little country pub with good food but be sure to book as seating area is quite small. A couple of times we have been they have got mixed up with the orders or run out of things but food is nice and staff are lovely. Fantastic as well because there is camping to the rear and some nice walks around
