We had a fantastic family meal in the ETR just before Christmas. There were over 30 of us on one table but the service was absolutely seamless. And the food was excellent. Well done to the team who made the whole experience very pleasurable and relaxed. Very impressed!
The tea rooms are not only beautiful but the staff are wonderful too. I managed to throw my hot chocolate all over myself and they kindly came and cleared up and replaced my drink free of charge. Very kind ladies.
The addition of the Mini Museum just outside makes it a great place to go with if you have children as they can have a little play too
The ambiance was brilliant. We enjoyed our brews after spending a couple of hours in the museum itself. The staff was welcoming and the service was great.Deserves the 5 stars.
The Tea Rooms were recommended and I must say Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Lovely cup of tea, and the sandwiches and cakes delicious. Also the staff were very friendly. Altogether a lovely experience
Stumbled across this place by mistake, walking through the museum into a fantastic room. We enjoyed tea, coffee, cake.. the menu looked interesting, and the food being served looked good.. although my Dad and I only had tea and cake..
the staff we helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.
Spent s lovely afternoon catching up with friends in the wonderful surroundings of the Tea Rooms. Beautifully opulent room with paintings you want to continuously stare at. Great food.
So atmospheric! Lovely decorations up for Christmas but even without them the Tea Room is beautifully presented. The staff are friendly courteous and helpful. Service was quite fast and the food was presented well and was really delicious. I always look forward to a return visit.
Nice place, decent food and reasonable price.
Lovely tea, nice cake, good value, friendly service. Very pleasant surroundings.
Lovely place, great food and reasonably priced. My favourite eating place in Birmingham.
Lovely place, food and staff. Sandwiches were a bit chunky but still delicious. Scones were gorgeous.
Lovely place to visit and a nice space to relax with friends. Great food!
Lovely place to relax and enjoy scrumptious cakes and tea, staff very polite, environment delightful, always stop there first, if I run out of time I can catch up on shopping online but mustn't run out of time for tea
Lovely atmospheric place with a great selection of fresh food in very comfy chairs and Wifi.
I think it's just so lovely , I pop in every time in town , as it cheers me up so much
Had the Friday cod and chips special 2 for £15. It was more than enough food and really well done. Took a while to get the food. Guess they had to go fishing in the North Atlantic first. :)
Had afternoon tea for one but there was plenty enough for 2 people. 6 different sandwiches, 4 mini scones with large pots of jam and clotted cream, 4 mini cakes and a cappuccino. And 10% off on Tuesdays so that was a nice surprise! It's always a pleasure to eat there. The staff were a bit slow clearing some of the tables though.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely coffee and toasted tea cake and an interesting place to rest.
Fantastic bacon sandwich and tea. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Edward tea house is a must if you are in Birmingham art museum.
English tea and scones is one of the most traditional from British cuisine.
They served tea in teapots and scones with strawberry jam and butter.
Only one thing was missing was more traditional printed English tea cups and saucers .
Price was 7 pounds for four Mini scones with one tea pot.
Decor was beautiful . I was there yesterday on Friday at 1:00 pm and it was fully occupied.
Bit of a hidden gem in my view, the ambience is amazing and our Sunday lunch was fab. Tell you what only needed one course!
Beautifully decorated atmosphere with efficient service. This hidden gem is perfect for a relaxed tea time after a day of exploring the city, though note that it closes quite early at 16:30. Soup offered here is tasty and is definitely a bang for your buck.
Beautiful setting, excellent food and friendly service
Beautiful large room with comfortable seating a mixture of large comfy sofas and armchairs. Lovely vintage decoration. Afternoon tea was nicely presented and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Nice relaxing atmosphere.
A lovely peaceful break from the office. The best surroundings in Birmingham to relax and the food and coffee is a reasonable price for a city centre location.
relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, food and tea were very good, very pleasant afternoon tea.
Quirky but nice traditional tea room hidden behind the Birmingham Art Gallery - entrance through the Gallery Shop.
Booths at one end have a #Press4Champagne Service
Lovely coffe and cake with relaxing atmosphere.
Beautiful space and nice decoration. I have been here regularly and the main issue is that is always too crowded! Lots of children as well and a bit noisy. Last time l ordered a coffee walnut cake that was delicious. Prices are a bit high for being a public space. Tea is better than coffee. Personnel were busy but friendly.
My only concern is that is not open off museum hours.
A lovely tea room, very polite staff and great service. Downside is, it’s to obvious that profit are a must with small portions... sorry
Disappointing. The room is lovely and the food was ok once it finally arrived but it took over 40 minutes which didn’t go down well with 3 hungry children. The kids food arrived in bowls which made it tricky to cut up or cool down. We had to ask twice for their pudding to be brought out. My husband’s lunch came on a piece of wood which took up most of our table. Staff were few and far between and not really bothered about customer service. A shame because it could have been so much better. We won’t be returning.
We came to the museum for the dippy tour with the intention of having lunch first. We ordered our lunch just before 12 and was told it was a 15 min wait which was fine as we had tickets for dippy at 1pm, one of us got lunch in 15 mins but the rest of us waited up to 45 mins including one of 3 children who all had the dippy meal, as you can imagine this was upsetting for the one child watching the others eat we asked that their deserts came with the meal ... they didn’t! We then asked a further 3 Times for their desert (which was only ice cream)... in the end we walked out as the children were frustrated and upset... very poor service and 3 upset children.
The pkace is beautiful no dought , its was my birthday so had afternoon tea, was disappointed as the bread seemed stale, sandwiches not presented nicely at all dropping apart, little cakes jus ok, cutlery an cake stand was not clean an shinny . Felt birthday tea ruined.
Looks nice but waiting 40 minutes and counting for fish finger sandwiches and beans on toast is pathetically poor service.
Beautiful place but the flat white I had was vile. Couldn't take more than one sip.....truly unfortunate
Probably the worst coffee available in birmingham and getting customers to serve themselves cake. It’s a nice room but I think they’ve missed a trick here
Not worth the money sandwiches hard cakes VERY small
room not very Edwardian unless you look up
Afternoon tea eaten better a lot better .will not be recommending .
no one asked if service was ok very poor
Nice venue and somewhat disappointing food from the brunch menu from a customer's point of view, until you got mistreated in an unfair manner by their rude male catering supervisor/manager as a member of casual staff.
Horrible coffee! Ordered flatwhite and got a bucket of diluted black coffee with a splash of semi skimmed milk. Espresso machine is in a horrible condition and the guy (I would not call him barista) does not know how to properly use it. Whole place is quite dirty and nobody is picking up left plates, cups and food.
