The Gardeners Arms Description
To quote the Hills Amenity Society website (http://www. hillsamenitysociety. co. uk /detail /disctrail. htm), 'the Gardeners' Arms was formerly refreshment rooms; the long wooden hall with its balcony overlooking Loughton was known locally as "Wigan Pier". The beverages sold now are slightly stronger, and the visitor may care to rest here to sample the brew and admire the view over Loughton and beyond to the Thames and the Kent Hills. '
These days, the Gardeners Arms remains a popular destination for those looking to find good food and fine ales set in convivial surroundings. It also serves as a vibrant local pub in the true sense of the word, and regularly hosts live entertainment and themed evenings.

the roasts are unbelievable, the lamb just falls apart. The amount of food is great with portions of meat the most of any pub i have been to. The staff are great as well. Going to become a regular i think.
Wonderful pub, my husband an I are trying to find a nice little local for us to go in once a week and this pub is perfect, can't wait to bring our nieces over for fairys and father Xmas!!
Was a lovely boozer, I had a couple of pints and a sandwich lunch time and was really peaceful in the beer garden and an amazing view across London , I can't wait to go back to see how it is when the weather is a bit better, the pub was nice though and friendly

If curry, Chinese and loud, televised, football is what you're after then look elsewhere. This is a pub where you meet up with old friends and make new ones, relax and chat in unspoilt surroundings then enjoy a walk in nearby Epping Forest.

Lovely pub on the edge of Epping Forest. Great drink and brilliant views. Feels like a pub in a tiny village. Definitley will be going back.

Just had the most amazing roast dinner. Love this pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff and fabulous dinner. Would definitely recommend it but you have too book as it’s very busy. Will be back very soon.
