We went in to watch the match and decided to have our dinner also there were 5 of us and all chose something different with the same results all saying the food was excellent

Popped in for a quick meal before a gig at the Civic.

Meal was great and service excellent I had the special two meals for £9.99 Quality was there. Always a good place to eat between soundcheck and doors open for the show

Myself and a friend visited the George Wallis today for lunch and oh my god, the food was absolutely delicious. We both ordered the mixed grill and everything about it was great. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chicken was very tasty. In fact, the only complaint I have is that the fried egg didn't have a runny yolk. But if that is the only fault I can find then I think it's pretty safe to say that you have two very happy customers. The guy who served us (I'm sorry I don't remember your name but it was a Latin sounding name) was very helpful and polite and I can assure you we will definitely be returning!

My sister and I had lunch there last Sunday - fish and chips and mushy peas, plus toffee apple crumble. Busy pub but not rowdy and so nice to be somewhere without deafening music - thank you to the staff. (If we go out to eat anywhere and the music is too loud we just turn round and leave inmediately. Does our heads in). Waitress really good and brought our dessert out later as we needed to let the fish and chips settle first! Food was lovely - very generous portions and our total bill was unbelievably low. Also nice ale on draught. We are now planning to work our way through the menu over the coming months :)

Meet up with friends here regularly, food is good value for money.staff are so friendly and atmosphere is good.Revamp looks fresh and much better lit

Just had Cheese and Leek Pie with jacket spud and salad...just delicious!! Total value for money!! Excellent pub, staff and food! Can highly recommend...

Getting out and about on my 50% off with stonegate, love the atmosphere and the staff are all friendly, great pint at a great price would strongly recommend a visit If in the area.

Booked table a few weeks ago. Excellent service. A lovely surprise on getting a free bottle of Pressco. Loved the 3 course meal, gorgeous yummy food. Had a fantastic time yesterday. I always eat at this pub and always enjoy the food. I must say the staff were great and looked after us. Thank you

Went for breakfast, which was lovely. Served straight away by a very polite & helpful women. Ordered 3 hot drinks all different & didn't wait long at all, brought over to the table too. Breakfast shortly followed, seemed to have been cooked fresh & was great. I'd say value for money, nice clean place. Would go again. Thanks x

Had a chicken and beef roast Sunday 7th jan very nice recommend it to others have had a few meals there fast service with a smile 👍👍

Went there before Xmas and it was terrible. Had 4 meals and only 1 was acceptable. We had 1 cold meal,1 dryed up pasta dish with 1 lump of chicken and 1 over cooked mixed grill. Upon complaining to the waitress she didn't seem bothered but took the mix grill back to the kitchen where a new steak was cooked but unfortunately they sent it back on the original plate so everything else dryed up. end of the meal a man working there noticed how much was left on our plates and asked if everything was OK so we explained it wasn't and he seemed sorry but came across as a bit of a oh well situation, no refund was offered he said sorry and went on his way .that day I actually felt a little bit robbed.

Staff seem put out that you've even turned up. Food awful and even when you pay for extra you don't get it! Absolutely disgraceful, even when trying to get attention of staff you're snubbed as someone cleaned the glass wash with something other than glass cleaner! AVOID....
