Went for Sunday dinner as Mrs didn't want to cook. Both had roast lamb dinner, and daughter had Sunday best 3 different meats plus veg. Really good portion and great home cooked meal and good value. Recommend giving it a go.

User

We were here last night for a family meal. And I must say it was fantastic. Meal and puddings were excellent and great prices. The lady who brought the food out and took the plates away made us very welcome and was so lovely to our two little ones. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you x

User

We found the greyhound very welcoming friendly staff good food will come back x

User

Our regular pub we love it here, with the new management and kitchen staff too the food is great and there's always a friendly atmosphere!

User

Went there for food last night and had the chilli Jack mack, was well worth the money with what was on the plate also had the cookie sundae and that was well tasty. The staff are well pleasant when they serve you.

User

A friendly greeting as soon as we walked in. Service was good, food was as expected and value for the price. We felt relaxed.

User

Staff are really friendly and approachable but meals are always lacking . Enjoyed our main meal today but desserts were missing ice cream and extra toppings that had been paid for after having to wait for along time. Came out of the car park to find my car had been scratched all the way from front to back i know thats not staffs fault butyoud thonk your car would be safe on a pub carpark . pub meals have a long way to go to get back to the great meals they used to be .

User

Nice warm atmosphere and friendly staff. However last time I was here it was much busier. No more sports on the tv's. Only two fruit machines and one was not working, no pub quiz either. Shame because this pub has lots of potential and used to be much better. Beers were nice though and there is a decent pool table too.

User

Just been there tonight and there is an hour and 30 mins wait for food. The pub was half empty, it's just not acceptable for a pub which advertises it's a food pub. I don't blame the staff, they are lovely. I blame the brewery , they don't give the pub enough staff hours to employee more staff to cover.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Not very busy, waited about 20 mins for meal. Had the all day burger. It was okay but nothing special. Black pudding croquette was bland and the fried egg rubbery. Also had spicy coleslaw but there was no kick to it at all. Ate it because I was hungry but would not order again.

User

Only the second time we have eaten here.... First time we had a very strong smell of air freshener all around us we couldnt enjoy our food as we could even taste it as it was that strong..... Yesterday we popped in... we know they were busy with it being mothers day.... But even they were took aback when we asked where our food was an hour later.... Only one main meal one starter and two kids meals..... It gets worse.... Starter of nachos turned up in what looked like a cat dish.... Small tin bowl.... And as my daughter-in-law started her nachos there was a big chunk of broken glass in her food.... Luckily she didn't put it in her mouth and lucky it wasn't in my granddaughters food as maybe they wouldn't have noticed it..... They refunded the price of the starter.... But won't be risking another visit.

User

Went there tonight 8 people so think they would be pleased the food was not too bad but the service was terrible no beer empty pub and not even a please and thank you will not return

User

Went there today for food and it was shockingly bad. The burgers we so far over cooked it was inedible. The chicken meal wasn't much better. I'm still unsure what I ended up with as it was nothing like the picture. It cost £7.10 and it was the worse thing I've eaten this year. It come with only 12 fucking chips! Most of the small plate is taken up by a gravy boat. And a bowl for beans. The fish burger was ok but I get the feeling that was more down to luck rather than design. We got 2 of the meals refunded at least. That's why they get 1 star rather than 0.

So in conclusion, don't bother going there for food. There are dozens of far better places to eat within say a 5 minute drive.

I worked in food pubs for 10 years and this pub is about 10+ years out of date. The menu has far too much on it. Jack of all trades and master of non. The place seamed clean enough but hardly anyone was in there to make a mess. The set up is still that of a non food pub. I can only assume they make enough wet sales on a weekend to stay open. If I were the area manager ide be wondering why this pub isn't bringing in more return. Its seams like a pub with an identity crisis that serves crap food.

User

Went into the Greyhound tonight to have food! Waited about 10minutes at the bar which only had one member of staff behind it! She served about four customers who arrived at the bar after us! Got fed up of waiting to order & walked out when she started to serve somebody else instead of us! Won't be having a meal there again!!

User

Went here today for a meal for our daughter’s birthday, pub wasn’t overly busy! I had soup which was served with a knife and fork and dry bread with no butter, and when I eventually got a spoon it had dried food on it, by this point I was put off the soup!!My daughter had a pizza of children’s menu which was burnt and had 5 pieces of sweetcorn on her plate! And service with a smile would of been nice! Disappointed to say the least

User

We seem to end up visiting the greyhound every few months. Occasionally over the years it has been run poorly. However there has been intermittent periods of managers who know what they’re doing, this isn’t one of those times.

I’ll start with the positives. Young lad behind the bar was the only redeeming feature of our visit last night.

Ordered our food with 3 simple requests.

1. Three sharing plates to arrive as starters.

2. Nachos to come with no jalapeños.

3. A steak to be medium rare.

Just over an hour later, after asking if it was going to be much longer, our food finally arrived.

I wouldn’t have minded if the pub was massively busy, but it really wasn’t. The waitress muttered an apology about our wait, but it obviously wasn’t meant with any sincerity.

Back to our 3 simple requests now.

1. All the food arrived at once.

2. Nachos came with jalapeños.

3. Steak came more than well done.

And to add to that the chips were cold.

The same waitress came out halfway through our meal bellowing across the patio area where we were seated, asking if anyone else had ordered food.

I would have voiced all of the above if anyone had bothered to ask us how our meal, but no one did!

User

Waited an hour for food.. then when It had arrived mine had broken glass in it. I took it back to the till and told the lady, in which I was offered either my money back or a fresh 'bowl' of nachos. In which I should have been offered a refund and a fresh bowl! They won't be getting a visit from me or my family again. No thankyou!

User

Never had a peice of gammon so salty in my life. The oil that came off the deep fat fried mushrooms was brown, oil needs changing and fryer needs cleaning. The mushrooms them self were like bullets, peas with the gammon had been boiled for far to long and to top it off the chips were soggy. I was not expecting anything to great for the price it was however I would have rather eaten the cash I handed over.

I work away and eat in a lot of different places and this was (appart from the hungry horse in Manchester) the worse meal ive ever eaten. I would be ashamed to be the "chef" here.

User

Dreadful food. Blatantly blasted in a microwave and slapped on diners table. Hard chips, yellow hard fish and upon telling a member of staff, was pretty much ignored and didn't seem bothered. Last visit here...
