User

Lovely pleasant spacious pub . Food is well priced and amazing. Staff are friendly and don't have to wait long for food. Lovely big conservatory where you can sit and enjoy the lovely views.

User

Lovely food as always, was 10 of us and all food came out togetter, excellent! X

User

I used to go here regularly a few years ago, it changed hands and went down hill drastically the food and service was terrible. A friend and i decided to have a sunday lunch there and as its under a new land lord since the last time i went i was a bit dubious, I am so glad that we went today. The food was ordered and the young man who bought it to the table couldn't have been more polite and helpful, the food itself from the menu was excellent cooked to perfection and nice and hot when brought to the table. We both decided we will definitely be back, well done bringing back the good old days of Quality and Service

User

You can not fault the staff. The food is always amazing.Good quality food at a reasonable price.Plenty of carpark spaces in a well laid out garden.lovely views of the countryside. Can not wait to visit again.Well done the Greyhound and staff.xx

User

Great food, great atmosphere would definitely recommend.

User

Enjoyable night and thanks to the staff for finding a table for 14 hungry people on a busy night you are really kind again thanks.

User

Came tonight for our first meal with our daughter the menu was amazing and prices were very reasonable staff went above and beyond and could not do enough for us .

User

Arrived at 12.30 Sunday , 4adults and 3 children struggled to get a table as was so busy , had to wait a while to purchase voucher for carvery and drinks but was certainly worth the wait . Meat was beautiful, very wide selection of vegetables. Excellent value for money will certainly be returning.

User

Went last night, never been before,we arrived early so plenty of seating,it’s not the poshest of places but if you just want a great meal in pleasant surroundings at good prices then this is the place for you, there was a peak time where the queue at the bar for food orders was quite long but just arrive slightly earlier if you don’t want a queue, excellent food and service

User

Myself and my partner came here today while we were in the area. The place was soooo busy but we managed to find a table no problem. We ordered our food it came quickly. My partner had the foot long sausage chips and egg. I had the SFC burger. The food was lovely very hot and tasted nice. My partner did say 1 of his eggs wasn't cooked as well as the other. We ordered choc fudge cake for pudding it was nice but I did find the cake to be a little on the dry side. Would of liked to of been asked if we where enjoying our food. Staff are friendly and would visit again.

I took my Dad here for a meal to celebrate his birthday. We went on Sunday 11 June at lunchtime to have a carvery.

When we arrived at 12.10 the place was already buzzing and the queue at the carvery was already quite long. We found a table and I then went to the bar to buy us each a drink. Whilst in the queue it quickly became apparent that I was supposed to pay for our carvery at the same time as buying the drinks. I ordered a pint of bitter for my dad and a white wine and soda for myself. As the young man behind the bar began pouring my drink I asked if it was possible for me to have it in a longer glass in order to add more soda - "Oh I don't think we have any long glasses" was the reply - is it me? Is this not a pub?? Anyway, I accepted the drinks and ordered an adult carvery and an OAP carvery - well my dad is going to be celebrating his 80th birthday so I think he qualifies as an OAP! Anyway, I took the drinks back to the table and as the queue for food had died down a little we went to get our food. I had pork and beef and dad had the same, well almost - I got one slice of each meat and dad got two - when I asked the guy serving what the difference was he said one was an OAP meal so would be smaller - I'm sorry but I thought the idea of an OAP concession was that the bill was smaller not the bloody food!! Apart from any thing else I was the one that was given the smaller meal rather than my dad!! How rude!! So we got our food and went to eat - if I am honest I can not fault what we had to eat although the beef was a little on the tough side - the pork was beautiful. The veg was great and the roast potatoes were amazing. The only other criticism I have is that there is no "meet and greet" or even something as simple as an instruction card at the entrance. I heard so many people say "so what do you do here - just queue or what?" - something as simple as a person at the door to greet people and explain how their system works would have been ideal and obviously very much appreciated as so many people were unsure. A pub with no long glasses, no meet and greet and an OAP concession that means less food rather than a monetary concession - simple problems that could be easily solved. Would I recommend the Greyhound? Would I return? I think, sadly that would have to be a no at this moment in time, however, if these problems were addressed and put right I may reconsider.

User

I'm a bit disappointed with you at the moment. We came for lunch on Bank holiday Monday and had a beautiful meal, we were really impressed so we recommended you to our family and friends. My Brother in Law and his family called on Sunday 10th June and said how bad their meals were. They had food from the menu, not the carvery, they said the fish platter was dry and the fish looked grey, the mixed grill was dry and tough. They wished they had had the carvery now. Why don't you just do a carvery on a Sunday and not offer the menu meals as well, obviously the kitchen staff can't cope with doing both. I am more annoyed that we recommended you as our meal was lovely and then two weeks later their meal wasn't nice, I think you have a problem with quality control if you can't keep the standard of food the same all the time.
