User

We use this lovely pub whenever we are in town. Can get busy when a train has just rolled in but you never have to wait too long to get served. Excellent range of beers on the bar which I generally match up with a fresh cheese n onion cob. Not expensive either.

Perfect place to start and end a day on the magnificent SVR

User

This one improves with time and has a much warmer feel then my last visit. Situated nicely on the station so I need not walk to far for the train

User

Roaring fire and Cyder waiting for the coach , lovely.

User

Just had a meal with the family and it was lovely, top marks to the chef

User

Great pub! We all had buoyed the beer+roll+crisps deal and the very friendly service - Thanks.

User

Great little pub, nice chilled out atmosphere especially because he decor or GWR themed, not hat I'm biased at all Haha, but in all seriousness good prices for good ales I travel from Dudley now And then just to have a couple of pints now and then when I get the chance can't fault the place, great place with an extremely nice relaxing atmosphere

User

Great bar. Excellent ales as always and with the added attraction of being on the doorstep of one of the finest steam railways.

Lovely friendly and professional barmaids.

User

Great ales some local ones as well, food was great friendly staff would go again.

User

Fab character pub, with great customers. Always a friendly atmosphere. Was in Sunday and so nice to see families and pets welcome! Also the food smelled good. Will have to try it soon.

User

Excellent (as usual). The deal of a pint, cob and a packet of crisps is great value. The Bathams was in lovely condition and tasted great too. Cob was tasty and filing.

User

Chose to stay in our favourite watering hole to share a birthday treat. The food was beautifully cooked and well presented- well done Megan !! Highly recommended - fantastic value!

User

Always a good pint at the king and Castle would highly recommend it

User

A great little pub with a big character. Lots of choice in alcohol: Beer, Local Ales, Wine, Spirits and a good menu. Meals freshly made and very tasty. Pork Pies and Cobs available too. Thank you for the excellent service and friendly staff xx

User

The change overall has been for the better, although the staff aren't as slick and fast at serving as the old lot, the place is fresher and the selection of ales better,

User

Popped in for a couple of pints at a gala weekend. Good selection of beers and nice atmosphere matched with an authentic feel. Well worth a visit

User

Great cheese and onion cobs but £1:90 for half a lemonade?

User

It had a lovely atmosphere but the food was awful. I had fish and chips which was inedible. The fish was dark brown on the outside and grey on the inside. The chips were very dry. I enjoyed the mushy peas. Wouldn't go there again.

User

Waited ages to get served which is OK they had a few people waiting but then a regular jumps in and gets served before me! Ordered a San Miguel which was flat and served in a carling glass. Will stick to Weavers next time I'm waiting for a train

User

The pub has changed for the worse since January this year - the atmosphere there is dreadful now. Where have all the friendly bar staff gone ? :-(
