What a gem of a place ! We came for the first time in January for the “bring your own vinyl records “ night and were made to feel really welcome . Last night (20 February) was no exception with a warm welcome from hosts Haley and Dave as soon as we walked in. Great atmosphere, friendly staff....would recommend without hesitation.

We were made to feel very welcome the first time we came here. The same welcome is given every time we arrive. Excellent choice of real ales and wouldn’t want to go to any other pub now. Even taken part in two of their events and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

We organised a surprise party here and booked the upstairs room and ordered a buffet.

Fab room, great service and the buffet was brilliant, very generous for what we paid.

Definitely recommend here for a small function, Hayley & Dave are fab hosts and also threw in a bottle of bubbly for the birthday girl!

The Lych for me is my kind of pub, everything about it is perfect.

Real ale. Great atmosphere after the wolves match. All good.

Possibly one of the best pubs in the country. Wonderful landlord and lady. Excellent and well kept cellar. Cheese and black pudding cob is a must and a revelation!

The open fire adds a cosy touch so absent in most pubs.

Old style pub,obviously with a long history. A great selection of Black Country cask beers, which are obviously well looked after, and taste great!

We were there for a football match - strictly speaking the signage on the front says 'home fans only' although probably because we arrived early without club colours, and were already chatting with the locals, we got away with it :) Would definitely return here again.

Im a Wolves fan and a beer lover from Denmark and i have to say The Lych Gate Tavern is one of the best pubs i have visited in Europe, and i have been around some pretty good ones. Last year a friend and i was in Wolverhampton, and after the home match against Cardiff we were in need of a pint, and we entered your pub. What a great place to enjoy a Black Country Ale and we where overwhelmed by the way Haley, Dave and the staff made us feel welcome and at home. We will come visit you again wednesday this week before and after the game against Derby. Can't wait to taste some good ale again.
