We had a really tasty meal, the service was excellent and the pub was nice and clean. Although it was very busy we didn't have to wait long for our meal. The desert we shared was to die for lol.

User

Never disappointed with the food and service. For a large pub the staff work very hard and always happy to help.

User

Just five mins from home ! Food was lovely and the staff were first class, such lovely young ladies.

We will be returning !

User

User

Booked a table for 30, as a delayed 30th birthday meal on 5th January, we had our own little area, which was lovely!. Couldn't complain about the food and service. The party seemed to have enjoyed themselves and very affordable for everyone. We were the last to leave, staff waited patiently!.

Thank you Mitre Oak, much appreciated!.

User

Been driving past on route to and from West Midlands safari park and always said we must have tea one day. Well why didnt we sooner. Fantastic service and food was delicious. Being on a diet I was also very impressed that I had a choice of several under 600 calories meals and even an under 300 calorie pud!! Will be stopping here again for sure!

User

Enjoyed my sausage and mash. Great pit stop on an epic journey

User

Booked a meal here for today 12:15. Staff were very polite. Had a nice meal, lovely atmosphere. Took the cakes aware can't wait to eat our red velvet cakes (always a fav) always thank u for looking after my phone and giving my relatives a phone call to say, as I left it in the toilet. Nice to know there are still good people around. Xx

User

Went for a family /birthday meal, very enjoyable after a long day out. And very close to the travel lodge we stayed at for the night

User

We had a table booked for 7:30 for 8 people for my daughters birthday. The service was extremely slow. We ordered at 7:45 and the food took nearly an hour to be served. Once finished we waited for someone to come over to remove the plates and order our desserts. We waited another 1/2 hour and we ended up having to ask the waitress to collect our plates. They never asked if we wanted any desserts. We asked for more napkins and were told they were in the cupboard and to help ourselves!! We ended up leaving without any dessert. We felt that although the food was good but the service was extremely poor and it spoilt my daughters meal.

User

Was hardley busy when we arrived yet still had a long wait for food other then that waitress was lovely and apologetic!

User

It would seem it has changed management in the last couple of months and it shows. Where it used to be clean it's now grimy with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and generally looks unkept. There doesn't seem to be enough staff and no one seems to know what's going on. The new manager stomps about and is completely unapproachable. In my opinion The Mitre Oak has gone from excellent to barely ok. Such a shame let's hope he manages to stop the rot before it's to late.

User

Good food good service but sadly just lately the type of customers allowed in to do no more than drink have pulled down the homely atmosphere. As a result my wife and I will not be the frequent diners that we were.

User

Don't know what has happened in the last few weeks since I was last here but today was shocking. Service was terrible. Booked a table for 5 which was fine and ready for us when we arrived. From then on it went down hill. Having to wait an hour to have the table cleared and dessert order taken (and only after asking twice) isn't what I'd call good service. Don't know if it's changed management or not as didn't recognise any of the staff. Usually go at least once a month but won't be rushing back I'm afraid

User

we were one of the first people in there. we watched people come, eat and pay before we even received our mains!! the service was awful! forgetting orders or being told ‘its on its way’. more like quickly being cooked. definitely felt like we were forgot about even though we was sat directly infront of the bar. service was slow, staff’s attitude was awful, food was awful. will not be going back.

User

Went in at 14.02 it was busy so asked if there was a table avalible to be barked at 'anything thats not reserved'. Found table - ordered drink that came quickly so we placed order straight away. A basic chicken Tika masala x 2. Waited and still waiting 50mins!!!! I mean who came to a restaurant for food. Oohhh food has since come - presentation poor! Food chucked on a plate. Not as its usually served! Food taste ok - portion lacking in size. Very disappointed!!!

User

Went for meal yesterday p.m which was very disappointing. The bill was discounted so it was cheap however the sausages my granddaughter had were so burnt I would have felt embarrassed to send them to table and that was after along long wait. Apparently there was only one chef on! Chef!

We made a further mistake in ordering her an ice cream which also took ages must have had to go milk the cow first. Believe it or not I gave a tip to the waiter as I felt so sorry for him he looked very embarrassed and was a pleasant young man. Is this what is called industrial espionage some one wants to close it down.

User

It was really bad the food was ok but not the best the toilets were filthy the staff the female was polite and friendly the male wasn’t in a good mood I don’t recommend coming here
