What a place!

We booked our wedding 9 months ago and what a ride it’s been.

After a few false starts it went off without a problem, it was perfect.

We have eaten in the bar over these past months several times and each time it was beautiful food! Very generous portions and well presented. I would say that children’s plates would be a good idea, but that would be my only criticism.

The accommodation for all our rooms was amazing, very clean and tidy, the space in the suite where I got ready the morning of my wedding was beautiful and plenty of room to get 4 adult women ready with photographers and family visiting.

They say itself was beautifully managed by Nikki and the team I had nothing to worry about and everything we had discussed in the months leading up to the day was executed without issue.

The rooms were dressed to perfection by Design Elegance and their communication and professionalism was second to none.

I would recommend to anyone, whether it’s getting married, pub lunch or eating in the restaurant or even just a nights stay.

One thing we did have to feedback would be that even though the restaurant had a beautiful vegan menu and the food was gorgeous, it’s the little things such as no vegan butter that let it down but we appreciate how much you did for our vegan friends.



Thank you Moat House we loved our day and wouldn’t change a thing.

We had our wedding at The Moat House 15 Sep 18, and it was amazing. Nikki (our wedding planner) and all of the staff were brilliant. We also ate at the restaurant the following day and the food was superb. Definitely recommend.

We got married at The Moat House on the 3rd March 2018 and the staff were amazing!! Nothing was too much trouble for them. I had a meal with my family the evening before my wedding and the chef did a slate of several chocolates wishing me luck from the Lewis Partnership group, which I thought was a lovely touch. The venue is beautiful and has some lovely photograph opportunities. Thank you for helping me through the wedding planning process from start to finish. You made our day truly amazing. We got married at The Moat House on 20th March 2015 and had the most amazing day. Ever since then we have gone back every year on our anniversary for our anniversary meal and couldn’t have had a better meal. To top it off the staff in the restaurant have remembered us each year which means so much. Thank you all for making our anniversaries so special.

We attended our niece's wedding here yesterday. Stunning venue. Beautiful wedding from start to finish. The staff are all very friendly. The staff who served the meals and transformed the room for the evening were like a well oiled machine. We stopped overnight, and the room was beautiful too, with a king size bed, air conditioning, and a large bathroom. Delicious food both at the reception, and breakfast this morning. Thank you for making our Nic and Joe's wedding so amazing.

Visited for my birthday/Father’s Day meal last night. Food was out of this world. The attention to detail was second to none. Staff are great and nothing is too much trouble. Thanks to everyone at the Moat House for a great meal.

The moat house Acton trussell what can I say my daughter has just got married here 9/3/2018 the staff where all everything what they say polite,discreet nothing was to trouble for them made my daughters day the wedding room well spacious loverly views over looking the canal the gardens are well presented the rooms are exceptional loverly decor the food was amazing well presented and hot and for the buffet we had a big roast so all in all if you are looking for a venue and your on a tight budget then The Moat House Acton Trussell is the ideal place

The food was excellent and the generosity with the wine at each course was incredible only to be topped by the superb friendly service / thoroughly recommend it - great value

Superb meal, attentive staff. They couldn’t do enough for you, and no feeling of being rushed. Fabulous!

Stopped with work a few months ago and decided then that when chance arrived would come back with the better half �

Returning from short break in London so booked a stop over for us both . Great location, fab selection of ales in the bar, great food and breakfast and helpful staff.

My wife found a mapped out walk in the room booklet which we followed mid-afternoon and took us through the countryside and along the canal which passed a good hour & half for those of you that are interested.

Stayed here 10/02/2018 for my nieces wedding mr & mrs James Ellie & josh ,it was a fantastic venue , they also had the singing silver service waiters , would recommend them to anyone, the room we had our meal in was decorated to perfection , after the meal it was transformed ready for the evening celebrations, the day was just perfect , all the staff was so helpful and friendly , we stayed over night we had a family room it was perfect. The breakfast the next morning was lovely there was plenty of choice both hot and cold. Over all I would give it a 5 star.

Our daughter got married here on Friday 13th April. It was an amazing day. Everything was so professionally done all the staff were amazing & couldn’t do enough for them. The rooms were lovely too. Oh and the food at the wedding breakfast & on the night was beautiful. I really can’t thank everyone enough. Rachel was amazing too. Thank you so much for making their day so perfect. My partner and I had the pleasure of having afternoon tea in your restaurant today. The staff, service and food were all top notch. Could not fault a thing! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Huge 'Thank You' to Rachel for organising our 10th Wedding Anniversary do last Saturday.

The food and setting was amazing (as always!); fantastic job by the chefs.

Also 'Thank You' on the night to Vanessa and the rest of the team for keeping a check on everything.

Nice to have had the same bedroom as well, 10 years later!

Had our wedding here on saturday and what a day it was PERFECT everything from start to finish was floorless everything organised it was brill want to thank Gaynor for all the planning of our big day, Hannah and Nikki for being with us from the moment we stepped in the door they were brill all day anything we wanted or needed they were there Brill couldnt of wished for a better wedding day x

Great Gin night, perhaps when greeted at the door the evening could be explained a little better. We didn’t know there was a seating plan and it wasn’t explained about the tonics on the table so when we took a seat a the right table somebody had already used the tonics.

But the food was good and the host was brilliant

Friendly staff, excellent food, lovely choice of sandwiches and cakes. Beautiful surroundings. Well worth a second visit, or third, or fourth or maybe more.....
