There was a cover chef from Worcester, he was excellent!
Fab food, great prices, lots of parking, nothing not to like.
Friendly service, comfortable, clean loos.
In short, go!
Superb meal as always, Alex the chef is a star, only had one mushroom left so ran to the shop to buy some more for me ! The staff in the Pillar are always polite, friendly and welcoming.
Superb food, quality for a very good price, I devoured the XL burger lyn the pie of the day, apple crumble was to die for with tasty thick custard, staff helpful careing and alert, will be going back that's for sure, worth the twenty minute drive οΏ½, well done
Had a amazing meal! Can't recommend enough. Best pub meal for a long time and a special thank you to the chef who not only provided amazing food but had to serve. Thanks x
Great pub, inside and out!! Great food & drinks and staff
Felt compelled to leave a review after having just eaten the best carvery I've had out in years! Having tried other, more expensive, local establishments and leaving disappointed each time, this meal was both better value and bloody delicious! Compliments to the chef and the friendly, accommodating staff :)
Fantastic carvery for 12 people, friendly helpful staff , good value for money, would definitely recommend
Carvery is delicious, very tasty. Pleasant helpful, happy staff. Big shout out to Alex the chef- lovely lad x
Came here for Mothers day carvery. Staff friendly and welcoming, very clean establishment and the food was very nice and very good prices. Good selection of vegetables and not murdered. Would recommend, and all seven people in our party were very pleased. Thank you for a nice lunch. Mothers given a glass of prosecco on arrival, nice touch. Would recommend and will return.
Went today to the Pillar of Salt for dinner. All I can say is we had 3 courses for less than Β£6.00 per person. Whilst they may have been the "smaller value portions" it was hot, tasty and nicely presented, and was served by very attentive, courteous staff.
Very clean and food was lovely and presented well :) only improvements i would suggest is 'no chewing gum' policy for staff when they are serving customers lol and choice of glass they serve white wine spritzers in.. pepsi pint glass? Not sure i would use that glass but dont think it really matters as it was a clean glass and you can drink from it, so all good lol
I have started using this pub at lunchtimes to meet with friends and I have found it clean, spacious and friendly. The food is reasonably priced and to date I have enjoyed all the food I have eaten there.
ONE WORD BUTCH! KARMA!!!
Gotta say I've been going here for a few years, never had a bad meal until today, had to wait ages for food, they forgot our side orders, we had to get our own cutlery, kids meal was cold, then had to wait 45mins for pudding, very surprised as I normally enjoy going here.
Words cannot explain what I heard in there tonight. 3 blokes and the barman swearing and talking about certain female members of staff. When I complained they were very aggressive. This has been my local for 17 years and it was absolutely disgusting what I heard in there tonight before 9pm. The new team should be so proud of themselves NOT. Your"locals " will be happy as they told us to f#$k off and don't come that I won't be back for lunch or a family dinner or when my son is home from deployment, as there are plenty of places to go rather than the Pilla.
If I could put 0 stars I would! Iβve just been to the pillar for a sandwich and I complained about the bacon tasting funny I had no problem with the chips or chicken at all! I explained that to the manger and his reply was βwhat do you mean it tastes funnyβ? Terrible terrible service! He ran into the kitchen then came back to my table telling me the bacon is fresh he has tasted it and he doesnβt know what Iβm on about! I never once said the bacon wasnβt fresh I just said it tasted funny. Most of the regulars say he is like that and he isnβt a people person, hahahahahahhahahahah why is he running a pub then? Rude rude man! I will never go in there again!
I rang this morning to book a table for 19 people thay said thay could cater for use but when we got there there was no carvery left but a little bit. There was no pudding that we want. We will not b using it again because the management was not at all help
He said we should of booked a week ago so thay could cater for use
I haved the cottage pie it's wasn't nice at all a of gravy and a bit of mash
