I'm half Thai and very fussy when it comes to Thai food. I'm pleased to say though....Excellent food, service is great, atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Drove passed this place lots of times and so glad I had the chance to try it! A true hidden gem, I'll definitely be back!

User

Fantastic atmosphere and food, used to go a lot when I was younger, however I hadn’t been for about 10 years, finally got to go again, and the food is just as great now as it was then

User

Excellent food very friendly and helpful staff took my grandsons birthday cake and sorted it out with candles etc atmosphere very warm beer garden has a Thai theme which was lovely in the sunshine so really enjoyed the evening

Countless meals from this restaurant! My go-to Thai restaurant whenever I'm in the country. Staff are friendly and the thai food is first-class delicious.

I would like to offer two friendly tips for any customers reading the reviews:

TIP 1.) I highly recommend their "Sunday Roast" menu if you haven't done so yet. Definitely something you must try! You will be pleasantly surprised that a Thai Restaurant can make an English roast this delicious.

TIP 2.) If it's the summer in England like it currently is, their beer garden in the back and their beer patio in the front are a great way to fully take in & enjoy the scenic, surrounding, forrest. Add a cold pint or beverage of choice, some friendly service & quality Thai Food and you will be appreciating the English (short-living) Sun in a new way!

If...

Not hungry? Then try a fun walk alone, in a group or with your dog exploring the many pathways through Epping forest with The Robin Hood Pub & Restaurant set as your end destination or resting stop for restrooms/snacks/lunch/brunch/dinner or just to say Hi. Nevertheless, the aroma from the food will most likely talk your appetite into staying a little longer!

Enjoyed and Enjoy!

User

Absolutely fab can not wait to return food amazing staff amazing Thankyou for a lovely evening

User

Food was great as per usual, however service was a bit crap on this occasion. The girls are lovely but we had to wait a long time for our food! One dish was a bit weird ribs, like the where out of a tin but the rest was great. Very good restaurant overall!! Checkout my friends insta BOOMDELISH for pictures!

User

Okay, am I the only one who thinks it's weird that this pub in the middle of the forest is also a Thai restaurant? That aside, it's still a decent pub with semi-interesting Asian decor, and a pretty chill vibe. If you're not driving up here, it's pretty difficult to get to as the roads are fairly narrow and there aren't really footpaths that lead up to it. And I wouldn't suggest traipsing through the forest as it's super easy to get lost in there.

If you happen to make it up here, though, it's really the only rest stop you'll find up the hill, and the drinks aren't half bad. They have a full selection of booze- as any self-respecting pub should- including a hefty list of boozy coffees that are infused with different types of whiskey, rum, liqueurs, and even brandy. The one Calypso Coffee with Tia Maria Liqueur is incredibly smooth and perfectly sweet.

I can't speak for the food, but as with most Thai restaurants, the menu is huge and they serve up all the usual favorites, from Pad Thai to Currys.

Yes, it's all heavy stuff, but hey, you have a forest right outside to work it off in.

User

Food average for my first experience of Thai, service was slower than expected. Very busy place though, so it must be popular. Maybe Thai is not for me. Cheers
