We had to bring our daughter in today because she had injured her neck.

Senior Practitioner Kim cared for us with great empathy and professionalism, came down to our daughters level put her at ease and made sure she understood everything she was going to do to her and was happy every step of the way.

We are so grateful especially to Kim and all the other staff who dealt with us.

User

Took my daughter via ambulance after she’d fallen down the stairs. Ambulance arrived quickly crew were reassuring Lee and we think Vicky. Yes she was in a corridor, yes it took time but we can’t fault the A&E team drs, nurses etc were caring and attentive considering how busy the department was Karen, Mandy, Kim and Bridie fantastic service the ambulance crews who came in were helping out where they could team work at its best well done all x

User

Thank you to absolutely everyone that looked after me on sunday after my motorbike accident. From the first responder, the ambulance crew and all in a&e, x ray, ct scan etc. You were all amazing and a credit to the NHS! Thank you for everything!

User

On holiday husband was admitted with pneumonia...from the minute we arrived all staff were excellent...first class care. Only downside was that I found it difficult to get an answer to phone calls...I was 20 miles away in motorhome on my own with no transport. When I eventually got through the nurses were good enough to let me speak to my husband on ward phone. Discharged after 48 hours on antibiotics...taxi back to me in motorhome. I drove motorhome all the way home to Cumbria....Husband has recovered well...all thanks to excellent care from staff at Shrewsbury Royal. As a retired Nurse, Midwife and Health Visitor I very much appreciate their care and commitment

User

Many, many thanks to the wonderful nurses & doctors that have looked after my mum Gloria in the past couple of days, such amazing care! In particular a huge thank you to nurses Maggie & Rebecca on ward 28, your kindness & care was much appreciated, you really are angels in disguise!

User

Just wanted to say a huge Thankyou and pass on my absolute respect to all the Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who looked after my son Oli and I last night.

I have to say it was one hell of a night from seriously ill patients to lots of hopelessly drunk people taking up valuable nursing time.

All patients were treated with great efficiency, without prejudice and great professionalism and care.

If you’ve never spent a night in resuscitation and a casualty ward it is a complete eye opener.

Through all this still provided me with reassurance and cups of coffee. I think you are all doing a wonderful job and want to Thankyou all Who worked in Casualty and then today in Ward 24E xx

User

I’ve just got back home from another overnight stay at the Royal Shrewsbury hospital, absolutely all the staff and specialists have been wonderful with me on both recent occasions. The food was ok so I can’t complain but then I wasn’t expecting a good restaurant quality as it’s a hospital that’s doing it’s best. So all in all a really good experience

User

I've recently spent four days in Shrewsbury Hospital, and I have to say the whole experience was amazingly positive, from start to finish. The care throughout was so attentive and thoughtful, the doctors and nurses were so committed, and even the food was really good- simple, but no turkey twizzlers or chips, all was freshly cooked and tasty. I left feeling massively appreciative and hugely proud of our NHS. Thank you to all at Shrewsbury Hospital - you are amazing.

User

I would just like to thank all the staff in A&E,CDU and Cardiology for the exceptional care I received during my short time there the nurses and doctors gave great care and attention so did the porters and the ladies who brought the food and drinks. Thank you all

User

I wanted to say a massive thank you to the nurses on SAU ward at RSH as they went above and beyond for me. The care they provided towards me was second to none and never once made me feel embarrassed.

Amazing nurses worth their weight in gold which we take for granted at times, when we are in most need of there help.

I for one would just like to say a massive thank you so so much for your fantastic care and support and respect.

User

I have to say after staying in the hospital all month the recovery team in theatre in RSH are absolutely outstanding!! I have never received such amazing care a fantastic team and a credit to our nhs.. also all the staff on ward 26 surgical have been brilliant with my recovery thank you all so much xxx

User

I have been in A&E waiting transport to take me home after arriving in an 999 ambulance . I have been waiting since 14.15pm and it is now 17:38pm. A disable person with two metal hips, two metal knees and two metal shoulders with spinal problems and totally blind in one eye.SHOCKING . Staff have no protocol to follow in getting patients out of the hospital. Or disable people are ignored as second class citizens. The CEO should be shamed of the poor level of service. Will update when medical services arrive to get me home. Just in time for me to call 999 as I have no

Medication to test if it has solved my vision problem. At this rate I could be totally blinded.

18:00pm AE office has more staff than patient. I can see ambulance staff in office but no sign of driver from medical services.19:15pm gave up on hospital transport and got taxi home for £20. Taxi driver said it’s quite common for this as taxi company owner and medical services are hand in hand. Sounds like NHS patients are part of a scam with hospital transport and local taxi firm. I think A&E staff member of age with glasses is part of the act from my observations on the day.

User

I attended the treatment centre yesterday for day surgery to remove my gallbladder. The unit is fresh, hygienic and the care from the staff was excellent. Everything was explained well by the anaesthetist, the surgeon himself and the sister on the ward. The whole process was very smooth and efficient and all the nursing staff were absolutely brilliant. I was released in the evening once I'd recovered enough armed with medication and instructions. All in all a very positive experience from the time I walked in to the reception desk from the time I left. Well done RSH.

User

Hate the way I being treated here hardly any medication as I always bring mine in every time I stay here and usually pharmacy checks it. This time in here hasn't been checked 1ce and I have nearly run out I have copd and heart failure and having to do without medication cause it wasn't checked during my stay,

User

My wife taken to A&E by Ambulance where she spent 5 hrs on a Trolley in a corridor and admitted to SAU where the next morning they couldn't find what was wrong despite me querying a very obvious rash on her torso...next day shropdoc in Telford confirmed straight away Shingles and prescribed anti Viral meds.

£14 car parking charges too ...feeling ripped off for parking in a half empty carpark in an emergency...£8 on the first day ...£3 on the second day picking the wife up (over by 4 mins) £3 on Shropdoc ... disgusted....the sooner these parking money making business are abolished the better.

User

The nurses talking trap about patients to each other. Disgusted is the understatement. Spent 16 hours in a and e and the amount of time they chatted about their lives instead of working was stupid. No one offered me pain realif and when asked got told to wait. Afder 10 hours got something. I won't make a fuss but I was fed up by then. Get your staff In order! Oh and telling a poor old guy to stop acting like a 2 year old is wrong. He clearly had dementia

User

Been in surgical assessment unit now for 6 hours with Ruth and still waiting to see a senior Dr suspected gallstones , no ultrasound done or CT scan so they can make a judgement for treatment you would have thought they would have got all the tests carried out and available later to make that call but no or I am

Thinking to logically.

User

Was taken from A&E to the SAU waiting rooms at about 6pm and apart from having my blood pressure taken once, I had to wait until 2am just for someone to come and do a blood test on me! Thank god there was a TV room in the waiting room!

User

Trying to get my call to Ward 33 put through after receiving message that dear friend has been admitted to that Ward. 24 mins later and still no one is answering the phone on the ward. The operator lets the phone ring and ring instead of escalating the call to say a manager. The closest one gets to any kind of human response is "I don't know why but I just cant get through" but before you have the chance to even say - how about putting the call through to a manager, the operator has gone and is again trying to connect to a number that no one cares to answer.
