We have just had a lovely Sunday lunch for 7 people. Paddy the dog liked being able to come in to the pub. Plates were full to bursting! Definitely recommend this pub - you won't have room for dessert though!! Vegetarian nut roast was delicious!

User

We have eaten a couple of times, the food is good home made with good portions. It can get busy and sometimes your food seems to take a long time coming... but worth the wait. With the canal side and marina surroundings makes it a very pleasant place.

User

We have been popping in for the occasional drink for just over a year now, we love the setting, drinks, staff & service. Tonight we had our first meal (for my birthday) and I've got to say this is the best pub for food in Tamworth. Food was excellent, fresh, tasty & plentiful. Our new favourite (but don't tell everyone)

User

Sunday roast, Guinness and rugby, deep joy. Staff and service fantastic ! Loving the new decor and feel to the place fab.

User

Lovely pub for sunny days. We stumbled across it after taking a wrong turn leaving polseworth market but glad we did.

User

I have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Alvcote. Samual Barlow Pub is absolutely brilliant , great food, great staff run expertly by Madam Barlow. You get a wonderful greeting the moment you step in and, even though the staff are young, their service is top notch. I will return again and again. Keep up the good work everyone.

User

User

Best beer in Tamworth, lovely food and friendly staff!! Plus an amazing gin selection ’┐Į

User

Been using it since it opened and though there have been changes over the years it's still a nice place to go and sit by the canal, good beer and food so what's not to like haha

User

Ate here today after passing and liking the look of the outside space in the sunshine. We enjoyed a drink on the deck and went inside to sample a beautiful beef dinner, accompanied by great beer and a lovely atmosphere. Great staff and a warm welcome will definitely be returning soon.

User

Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch. Have recommended it to friends.

User

We booked a table to be safe both of us had the beef roast plenty it melted in your mouth all veg was cooked to perfection all home cooked including real gravy

Some nice beers as well on tap

The waitresses were very friendly and helpful

I would have given it five star but I was disappointed it wasn't homemade Yorkshire pudding

Yet the desserts were

But yet still lovely and recommend

User

Always a good stop off point for our regular walks in the area. Great beers on offer & a cold pint of Pravha usually does the trick for me. Called in yesterday afternoon when we had drinks and food. Served promptly, politely and at great prices. Nothing to complain about at all. Happy to go back again and recommend. ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

A great function room and balcony, nice food and fairly good bar service. A little short on seating for larger numbers but some went down stairs and enjoyed the bar area, but that's not really bring 'at' the function. A brilliant little gem, must understand it can only hold so many people. Would deffo recommend to others ’┐Į’┐Į

User

Took friends there for lunch as it's my local and I rate it better than the Pigs And The Knob. Sadly I was disappointed. A jacket potato that wasn't reheated properly yet was rock hard underneath and barely had any cheese on it. Nice homemade coleslaw though.

User

We tried to park for a drink after we'd walked the dogs and some bloke had a huge row at us telling us we weren't allowed to park as we were walking dogs, despite us wanting to go in for a drink before. He brought up the point that he 'didn't know us' and therefore couldn't trust us, and insisted we park somewhere else and then come to drink.. I could see other patrons with dogs.. unfortunately mate if you're relying on people you know to run a pub I don't think you'll get too far! Will definitely be letting friends and family know not to bother coming, as the management is really rude to 'people he doesn't know'.. you can't know everybody in the world bab!!!
