fantastic pub, fantastic atmosphere, great staff and even better tapas and food, well worth a visit for a relaxing night with friends

What great service. Recently used their outside bar facility and i was impressed with the efficiency and manner in which they conduct the business. I will be recommending them to everyone that needs an outside bar.

The Silken Stand is also a lovely place to visit, have a drink, something to eat and catch up with friends. Excellent customer service.

We went for tapas but the restaurant has changed hands so they have a new menu. However they went out specially and got the tapas ingredients for us. Really above and beyond. The only thing I did not like was that the cocktail menu has completely changed, ( it was excellent before,) and now cocktails are served in jam jars which I utterly loath. They weren't as flavoursome as they used to being being a bit heavy on the mixers. However, that apart we had an excellent evening and I look forward to trying the new menu.

Thanks to all the staff, especially Annalise for making my daughters christening day so special and enjoyable for us. My family and myself had an absolutely lovely day. Great place for a special events, everything was perfect. Highly recommend. Thanks again all x Lisa and Darryl x

Sampled a pornstar martini with a prosecco shot... and had the spanish chicken. I have to say I highly recommend this place. The food, drinks, service and ambience here is excellent!! We sat outside and had full table service. Shall deffo be returning to sample something else on menu xx

Just held a surprise 50th birthday for my hubby here. I hired the upstairs room with access to the patio and garden area. The hot and cold buffet was fab. With the help of Anna and her team the whole evening was faultless. Thank you all. Would highly recommend to anyone holding an event large or small.

I have just had my partner s 30th birthday party at the silken strand and it was amazing from the staff to the food there was nothing more that Anna and all the team could do for us you will not find a better place than this to have a party or any other functions the prices are more than reasonable and the food is to die for don't even bother going any other place in leek because none can touch this place once again thank you all at the silken strand ��

I cannot recommend The Silken Strand enough! I have enjoyed tapas and cocktails previously both of which have been amazing. I recently had the reception for my daughters christening here and we had such a wonderful experience. The buffet was by far the best I have ever had. There was a large selection of food all of which was so tasty and beautifully presented. There was a lot of it too. We had a private room and garden. There was plenty of space for our party of 45. The children loved being able to play outside and the garden is safe and secure which gave us all a bit of a rest ;-) All of our guests commented on what a great day they had and I cannot thank the staff enough.

Have just held my hen do at the silken strand , and thanks to Anna and team had the most fantastic night , we hired the private room and garden area and had group tapas for 16 .........will definitely recommend...Thankyou !!!

Had a lovely set menu for a special celebration. Plenty of varied tapas dishes - something for everyone - and delicious cocktails. In a room to ourselves which was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Had a brilliant get together for Christmas with a group. The tapas banquette was great, lots of different types of food, garlic mushrooms, patatas bravas, tortilla, nachos, different breads, oh and the calamari was very good. Lots of vegetarian dishes on offer too. I really enjoyed the selection. The staff were very attentive and I had a great night.

Great meal on Friday night - the tapas was lovely! we really enjoyed the meatballs and the patatas bravas. The staff were really friendly and helpful. we will definitely be coming back.

Fantastic food and service. The cellar is the hidden gem of Leek. Such a great place to dine and drink all night long. Thanks Guys

Fantastic experience! Vegan set menu, loved the food, loved the cellar restaurant and the service was fab. The red velvet cake was sooo good. The food came out quickly between courses so we were a bit stuffed, I prefer a bit of a breather between courses but that's down to personal preference, so they can't get it right for everyone! I'll still definitely be going back for more and would highly reccomend it. � x

Came to the silken strand for a Sunday dinner and I could not fault it! The food looked unbelievable on the plate and tasted even better! Nick, the general manager and head chef was accommodating and has a real passion for what he's doing! You'd be mad to give this place a miss! Thank you Nick and the team at the silken strand �

First time we had been together (two of us) despite only living a ten minute walk away! The 2 for 1 cocktails were very good. The service was also good. The food (paella) was mediocre (tasted like something I could knock up at home). There were customers (regulars, perhaps) who were moaning about their food (for about an hour!) Overall, we've given 4 stars for the cocktails and service, but there was an air of pretentiousness which didn't really warrant such a place. We would go again to have a cocktail or two, maybe outside in the sun this time..

Worst meal and service (from the manager not waitress) I have ever had. Told before hand about set menu, which was fine. However 6 plates of meat arrived, no veg/ potatoes etc. Not nice. Bill came £60 for those 6 plates. Manager threatening to 4 young girls, and rude to the only other table when they too complained. Will not even go when there is a new menu as management was appalling.

Went to the Silken Strand on Saturday 30 September, wanted the Tapas special offer.

Very disappointed it was only after the Spanish styled starters and mains thatwe were told we could choose bread and butter pud or apple pie...after the special menu had a choice of three in keeping choices.

Waitress did her best, but was expected to manage too many tables.

Not sure referring to us, two ladies, as 'darlings' and 'guys' did much to help though.

We will not be returning in a hurry.

We stopped here on our wedding night sat 26th Aug 2017 . To say I was disappointed was a understatement. On booking the room we were promised a room with either a 4 poster bed or a free standing bath none of which we got !!!!!! Instead we got given a very basic room with a double bed that had got 2 single mattresses used as the mattress . Very grubby room with no nice features and looked very dirty and worn. The breakfast in the morning very basic and all this to be charged £95 for the night ! Extremely disappointed would not recommend this place nor shall I be staying again what a way to start married life !
