The Walled Gardens at Croome Court, one of the finest Georgian walled gardens in the UK and one of the largest in Europe, dates back to the 16th century firstly owned by the Coventry family, however throughout the centuries the gardens sadly fell into a dilapidated state. In 2000, husband and wife duo, Chris & Karen Cronin saw past the wild brambles and shells of agricultural buildings in spite of common sense and strong advice and took up this vast restoration project. Together they had the vision of what they could make of this magnificent gardens and were drawn by the mystery that fulfilled The Walled Gardens and what they might find once the restoration was underway.
After 17 years of meticulous restoration, the Cronins have lovingly restored and unveiled the historic natural beauty of the garden ready for the enjoyment of the public. Needless to say, the garden will continue to mature and develop to reveal yet more hidden secrets that are yet to be discovered.

Details of the first series of art exhibitions to be on dispaly in The Walled Gardens at Croome Court in 2019 have now been added to the events page of our website.
This year there will be 4 artists exhibiting their work in each series, with the first taking place when we re-open to visitors for a brand new season on Friday 19th April, and will run until Sunday 9th June. There will be an opportunity to meet the artists behind the work on Saturday 20th April. All exhibits wil...l be available to purchase from The Walled Garden's visitor centre & shop.
The gardens will be open to visitors from Good Friday until the end of September every Friday, Saturday & Sunday (plus Bank Holiday Mondays) from 11 am until 5 pm (last entry 4 pm). Entrance will be via the main NT Croome visitor centre and will cost £5 per adult (children free).

Last week on World Polio Day, Evesham Rotary Club, students from The De Montfort School and Prince Henry's High School highlighted historic progress towards a polio-free world by planting 5000 purple crocus bulbs to add a splash of colour for all to see next spring when visiting the gardens....

Well what a lovely surprise to find the walled garden open today. We have been to Croome on many occasions and sadly have never gone on the "right" day when it was open to the public. To go behind the gate of the walled garden is magical. If you ever were interested in the secret garden book / film then you will not be disappointed. The grounds are in the hands of a private owners garden, 5 acres........
The restoration work that started 17 years ago is immense. The graft and attention to detail must have been painstaking. It is obviously a labour of love. The owners have done themselves proud .
Please go and support the restoration. It's been the best five pounds spent, with free tea and coffee. Today the sun shone, the world seemed so peaceful in a little bit of English paradise . Lorraine X
We visited the beautiful walled garden for the first time today. Our first reaction having walked through the entrance gate was "WOW". The garden was huge and looking at all the information boards showing the terrific amount of work the Chris and Karen have achieved with the help of staff and volunteers is outstanding. What an inspiration they both are and bringing the garden back to life for themselves and hopefully generations of visitors to come. We hope to return many times and look forward to see the garden develop each year. Stunning.........well done Chris and Karen. What a legacy.
Thanks to Chris for welcoming us and turning a grumpy day into a happy family Easter Day by showing us around enthusiastically and entertainingly. We were shown an unusual jasmine and heard the story of the garden and Chris and Karen's connection with it, then played quotes and tag and didn't want to leave, despite wind and rain. Looking forward to our next visit.
Thank you for the talk you gave at Dodford Gardening club last night. We were amazed at all the work you have undertaken and the passion for the project. We will be arranging a visit once you open again next year.
