Missing our Wolseley Centre shop and extremely staff and volunteers who work in there? Us, too!
Don't worry though if you've missed out on any Christmas shopping, why not pay us a visit at our Rugeley Charity shop? We've got plenty of new goods on offer too for those extra special gifts. And in return, you help to support our charity!

As you will have seen from our social media posts and in the local media, our Wolseley Centre HQ is currently undergoing a redevelopment - which includes the creation of our new cafe!
When we moved to The Wolseley Centre in 2002, this article featured in our membership magazine on why we decided to make the centre our new home!

The front of our Wolseley Centre building is looking a lot different at the moment as work to redevelop our centre progresses!

User

We've been contacted by a few people to ask about how our trails at Wolseley are affected by the redevelopment to our visitor centre.
The grounds will remain open throughout the development and there's still 26 acres of beautiful grounds to explore! The Wolseley Centre building will be closed to visitors for the duration of the works.
Access times to the car park will be 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
... We're also selling trails at our Rugeley shop which you can bring to Wolseley to take part in. They're child friendly and cost just £1 each!

Work to redevelop our Wolseley Centre HQ is well underway after beginning on Monday! Here's some pictures of how the centre is looking at the end of this week (very empty!).

Work on our Wolseley Centre HQ is getting underway today!
The centre is currently closed while the work to redevelop Wolseley takes place - we're hoping it'll be completed in time for Easter 2019.
Here's some pictures of the centre earlier looking very bare! It'll be worth it though - we're excited to see how it looks next year (and are hoping you'll join us in our brand new cafe for a cuppa and cake!).

What a fabulous place. Right on our doorstep. The kids loved it We hadn't been before but we will definitely be returning. Good idea to wear wellies though!

User

We have been visiting Wolseley for many years. We adopted an island on Stephens Pond in memory of our son Chrissy who loved nature and wildlife. We usually try to visit weekly to clean his plaque and can guarantee to see something new or different each visit. Lots for you to see and lots of activities to entertain the younger ones

User

This is beautiful. We watched otters playing on the Trent, plenty for the kids to do, nature trails, treasure hunts etc. So glad it's in the hands of the Wildlife Trust.

User

This is a beautiful place to bring toddlers. The walks are exciting, the birds are lovely, lots of quirky activities en route and the water bridge and swing are fab. We had a fab time in the puddles in the wet marshland. Lovely little shop and cafe area and ideally next to a garden centre. This will be a regular place for us from now on.

User

Spent a lovely couple of hours there with my little granddaughter who is two years old, she thoroughly enjoyed hunting for the ‘ghosts’and also enjoyed feeding the ducks watching the squirrels the rabbits and a little baby robin hopping about. I gentle stroll through pretty Woodlands with plenty to see. Would definitely go again.

User

So peaceful and lots of things of interest to see and photograph. If you are lucky to will see the kingfisher flying down the river. One of the pools attracts lots of beautiful damselflies and dragonflies on a sunny day. Highly recommend

User

Lovely scenery, great activities for the kids that were incorporated into the natural surroundings, and plenty to see. Ducks, geese and even a robin :-) only thing that would have been nice would have been a cafe in the visitor centre, but the garden centre within walking distance had one and there was even a nice path through the woods to get there :-)

User

Lovely place to visit for a few hours for both adults and children. Lots to see and things of interest for kids. Shame not a better cafe but then it's easy enough to go over to the cafe at the garden centre.

User

It is so wonderful to share nature, fresh air and new life with my young grandson. Already he values the natural world. Your centre has helped him to sit quietly and observe the wildlife, especially the robin coming close for crumbs. A great place to explore and scramble over the rocks. Brilliantly resourced shop for gifts for all ages. Informative and friendly staff.

User

I'm so glad we found this hidden gem! Inexpensive (free to get in with voluntary contribution for parking), simple, beautiful and peaceful. If you're content to walk around, to be creative and to make the most of nature, there's so much to enjoy. Take welly boots for the splash bridge (fun for adults as well as tots!) and shoes fit for climbing/negotiating basic obstacle courses! There are also plenty of hungry ducks :-)

User

Great place to visit interesting to walk round you never know what you might see

User

Fabulous hidden gem!! Spent several hours here with our 3 children. We did the #30dayswild trail and it was so much fun. We had a picnic and a lovely chat with Wendy. Fed the ducks and geese. A lovely trip out!!

User

Came for our first visit on a very wet day. Very helpful lady on reception gave directions for some lovely walks (despite the weather) We bumped into a regular visitor who told us where to look for different types of wildlife. A bit of patience & we spotted some tiny bank vole, the biggest squirrel I think I've ever seen & then moved on to some pond dipping. The children loved this & identifying all the creatures with the help of the enthusiastic staff. Looking forward to visiting again to see the chamges with the seasons.

User

A wonderful place to go. Easy to get around if you have a buggy or wheelchair. The place is fantastic for little ones to explore too. Looking forward to the new cafe

User

A great place to send a day out for all the family and FREe

User

A brilliant place for every age.First time we have been .We will come again when we come up from Devon to visit family.

User

We love the visitor centre nature trail the garden centre itself is lovely, we also like to take the dogs and they even have a dog sitting aria in the cafeteria the only downfall is the price of the cafeteria food I mean come on nearly £5 for a pasty mealy £4 quid for a slice of cake when there’s two adults 5 grandkids I need nearly &50 to have a drink and a snack that’s Wye I’ve given four stars.

User

My partner and I love this place for a nice peaceful walk can get a bit noisy when there are school visits but kids need to learn about nature.

User

It’s very pretty and scenic here but I think I was expecting a bit more for children to do. There’s the odd activity dotted around but most of it is just walking around looking at the ducks. Everything is so overpriced a quick snack of crisps and flapjack with a drink for me and two children set me back over £10!! I then had to pay £4 for a bag to put them in as they had no carrier bags. Kids did have fun running about just wish there was more to do
