Three Little Birds Home Finishes was launched in March 2017 when I finally decided that it was about time to realise my career dream and turn my passion for interiors and home design into a business.
I'm Lucy, a mom of three from the West Midlands that is, and always has been, passionate about home interiors / design and furniture upcycling.
The name 'Three Little Birds' was inspired by the name I have been calling my children since my own third little birdy arrived in 2015 and also the connotations it has with nests. Our homes are our own little nests and no matter where we live or how big or grand our houses are, we can all have a lovely living space to call our own.
After lots of encouragement from my loved ones, I finally decided to turn my huge passion and what I've been told is my 'eye for design' and 'natural flair' into a part time business. Three Little Birds was launched in the hope that a few people would see what I can do and hopefully do business with me. . thanks to my lovely customers, in the space of six months my little business has gone from strength to strength and as my children get older and are all in full time education I have lots and lots of things in the pipeline to grow and develop my business.
At the moment I specialise in:
⭐️ Furniture upcycling, I create my own designs and also take on commissioned pieces for customers. My Facebook shop is usually updated on a Saturday morning if there's anything new to add. I am happy to work to customer's specifications for their own pieces or offer advice on design and colour ideas.
⭐️ Curtain and soft furnishings service. Free measuring and quotations
⭐️ Retro and vintage home pieces
⭐️ Personalised and bespoke art work and frames. I often get asked to create personalised frames for births, weddings, christenings and other occasions and am happy to create bespoke designs on request.
⭐️ Hand made home accessories
I'm also currently building my room design portfolio and am in the process of completing my first accredited interior design course. ⭐️⭐️3LB Update⭐️⭐️.... so the summer hols have finally come to an end, and my favourite month of the year is here! Please excuse my recent social media silence, it’s been a busy few weeks family wise but I’m finally back to normal hours on Thursday after all the kids are back at school and nursery! I’m meeting a few new customers this week and I’m looking forward to taking on some furniture commissions for them as well as finishing some room projects. Our own bathroom is ver...y nearly finished and I’ll share some pics as soon as it’s done but for now I thought I’d share some before and after photos of a little part of it that I did on a real shoe string budget!! Initially I wanted a double vanity unit but as my husband insisted that he wanted the shower to stay where it was, I had to settle on a single one as there wasn’t the room! 😢... on the plus side I still managed to find a decent size unit (albeit only large enough to house one wash basin!) I didn’t like the modern vanity stands in the shops so found this lovely vintage sideboard in a charity shop for just £20! The basin and taps were clearance and the marble top was a FREEBIE! I noticed some offcuts out the back of the tile shop where we bought our floor tiles and asked if I could take the piece, the shopkeeper kindly agreed and when I got it home I found it was the perfect width! Thank you New Edge Interiors! The unit was sanded down then stained and waxed dark antique oak, the total cost including basin and taps was around £80 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻! I do love a bargain! ⭐️ 3LB Update ⭐️ ..... please accept my apologies for my lack of social media presence recently!!! This is the current state of our bathroom at the moment 😩... so with that and a couple of other little home DIY projects going on, then trying to keep 3 x bratties entertained for 6 weeks thrown into the mix, I’ve hardly had time to bless myself! 😂 I’m currently working on a couple of long term customer projects on my work days and will be having some proper time off with the fa...mily for a Cornish break towards the end of the hols so all new enquiries are now looking at a September start date! I can’t recommend Dane from Perfect Restorations highly enough! He has done a truly beautiful job restoring two oak floors and one pine floor in both our lounges and hallway. Zero mess, prompt and professional! Looking forward to getting my rugs down to finish it off! Thought I’d give this post from a year ago a little re-share! I’ve had a glorious couple of days working outside in the sunshine 😎☀️ and because I’ve had some extra help from from my sometimes assistant Nadine Bond, I’ve even managed to squeeze in the time to start a couple of non-commissioned pieces to sell. Thanks Bondy! The pictured item is an upcycled solid wood piece that had seen better days, but was still a great quality sturdy piece of furniture. We sanded it back to remove the glossy varnish and then fini...shed it with Fiddes Antique Hard Wax and Valspar Premium Eggshell in ‘A State of Mind’ grey. The overall look is complemented with some new antique brass cup handles to replace the tired old pine ones. The look we’ve created is ‘traditionally modern’ and this piece would make a lovely dressing table or desk. Dimensions W54” D16.5” H30”. Over the next few weeks we’ve got lots of exciting home projects going on, including finally having our new bathroom fitted, restoring the wooden floorboards downstairs and overhauling the kids lounge which has begun to look a little tired. I am excited to share some of the photos of these projects with you very soon as well as a few other customer projects I’ve been working on recently... watch this space ! 👀 I picked up the tiles in the photos last ye...ar after the shop I bought them from had a discount weekend on, however, in that space of time, I’ve totally changed my mind on the bathroom colour scheme and have bought a totally different design! I found a photo in a home mag of what they look like laid and have attached that too. They are white and grey. These tiles retail at around £30 p/m but as I can no longer return them I am willing to sell for a bargainous £10 p/m and I have 7 square metres. Get in touch if you are interested! Love my little nest of tables painted by Lucy's mom. I also really appreciated Lucy giving me little 'sample type' pots of the paint used, just in case they get scratched - a nice touch. Am sure I'll buy more 3LB items in the future �

I have to mention how very lovely the lady and her partner were, they took the time to have a chat with me and made me feel very welcome. I'll most definitely be shopping with you again!

Fab personal service. Sourced and then revamped a beautiful console table for my landing. Lucy isn’t afraid to recommend you go brave on colours and it makes such a difference to have a striking piece. I have had many compliments on it. Having also witnessed Lucy’s bigger renovations she has a classy eye to achieve a really stylish and special finish. Couldn’t recommend her enough.
