About Toby Carvery

Here at Toby Carvery Hall Green, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly.

Toby Carvery Description

When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Birmingham's favourite carvery restaurant.

Last chance for breakfast with santa this weekend... book now!!!

User

Went yesterday carvery was lovely service was great really relaxing atmosphere.

Obviously when food is standing it may dry a little having read some reviews on here am irritated by the views of some people.

I watched the lads replenish constantly it's a walk-in carvery they can't just throw it away! Come on people be realistic

Was very impressed by the lad carving when he was serving a child well done team

User

Myself and my family always come here the people are very welcoming and the food and service are excellent

We went to the carvery on the Coventry rd this afternoon

Omg want a eye opener the lady gave me a dirty glass for my refill and the food was very dry and gravy just warm

Then when we had our pudding the lady just put the spoons straight into our ice cream where at the Robin Hood they place them in our hands or on the table

We said we would never go there again Robin Hood is the best and always will be for us so hope to have many more visits to you thank you Robin Hood X

User

My wife and I visited here for the first time. We usually use the quinton toby. this one was good, a good choice of vegetables and the meat was well cooked. The staff were nice and friendly

User

It's so good. I'd never been before and it's super cheap and cheerful. Perfect hearty food if you don't want a fancy meal out but missing out on a good old fashion roast it's defo the place to go. 👌🏻🍲🍗

User

Had a gammon sandwich with roasties and Yorkshire pudding with gravy and my 2 colleagues had the pork sandwich. Food was great, piping hot spuds and a few larger's to wash it all down served by lovely staff. Thank you

User

To be fair I'm sick of paying for shavings of meat and a plateful of veg, I've had to ask for the gravy to be topped up on more than one occasion and was horrified over the Christmas period at everything, however I still go But i ask for slices of meat, ask to have the fat cut off and send back anything I don't like

User

Restaurant was pretty quiet, was seated straight away by a lovely and very helpful lady. The only disappointment was that the food wasn't very warm at all so I felt the need to rush eating.

User

Meat was over cooked, stuffing dry and inedible and Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard, which was a shame as we'd come for my daughter's birthday, have been several times before and it's been exceptional .. waitress service was good and pudding as always was a treat

User

Good service, food was nice and not dried out (we were there for just after 12 noon) only complaint is there was no options for us to get a bowl of chips for the toddlers which was a pain as they're not yet into carvery food.

User

Worst carvery I have ever had.. Will not return ..

User

Went Sunday 7 adults 3 children, waited 1 hour 20mins for a table . Was told because there is 10 of us we have to wait for a big table. After an hour I asked for 2 smaller tables as lots of people were going in after us & eating & going home, I was told I have to wait... service after that was ok

User

Beef was awful, fatty and so chewy my dad couldn't eat it. Veg was mediocre and overcooked. We won't be returning any time soon!

User

Worst meal of the year. Come on down if you like burnt/raw veg and dry/fatty meat. Would be expensive if it was free.

User

We went this evening I had booked a table earlier in the evening. We arrived on time 6.45pm and were shown to our table, we ordered drinks. Once drinks arrived went to get our carvery, there was only beef on the counter and after a good 5 minutes of waiting and being told more food was coming out 2 lamb shank came out. We were then told they had run out of turkey, pork and gammon. I don't eat beef and am would normally have turkey. So I had to see if could order something else which meant me and my friend ate at different times. It was lucky I hadn't taken my insulin before going up to get food. Definitely a communication problem as we weren't told when we arrived or seated or even when our drinks arrived. Won't be going back in a hurry.

User

The pork was full of fat ,the broad beans were practically raw , the yorkshire pudding was dried up and it was all only luke warm . There was know one to meet us on arrival and stood there for about 5 mins waiting to see some one . The pudding was fine and the bar staff were lovely buts thats the only good thing I can say

User

In here noe 10:36 friday 20th june the beans have been frazzled under the lamp the bacon is soggy and the few slices on top are burned eggs are too runny sausages are burned toast machine only toasts one side of the bread hardly anyone here to ask for help plus the bread that has literally been put out wile im writing this is 'still defrosting' so the woman says!! Its not right! Will never be coming back here again and i use toby all over the country without any faults NOT HAPPY!!!

User

I went for a carvery on Sunday 2nd July it was awful stone cold I complained for the first time ever been going out for meals for yrs this is my first ever complaint they did ask if I wanted another meal or pudding but I felt so sick after what I tried but did not get changed for it but will never go back again

User

I had to wait 15mins until my salad came to which my partner had his cooked meal. They ran out of some items so it was just a half salad. They then took it back as the cook forgot the eggs. So now I had to wait. I complain online. Got a voucher but it didn't work so I had to pay for the meal. I went again and was put on a table where everyone walked through as it was in middle of walk way. I got knocked a few times. They wouldn't move me. Had breakfast a few times , don't bother. It's all put out and left there dry and rubbery . The staff are fine just the food and cooks beyond a joke. Now I go to plume where they at least refresh food and the cook is on hand to fill out the counter should it run out.

User

Friendly staff but absolutely rubbish food. I had to wait 35 mins for a simple starter of chicken wings. When my starter arrived the chicken was raw and disgusting! Won’t ever be eating in there again.
