The service was brilliant and each staff made me and my family feel very welcome from the off. The food was excellent and tasted home made. Definitely recommend to all for a great meal at a great price. Best Toby Carvery I've been to to date and look forward to returning.

Our table of 14 had a lovely evening yesterday. Our table was booked for 5pm, some of us were a little late arriving, but, Sophie, our waitress was very understanding. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. We had an excellent night. Well done to all the staff. We look forward to returning at Easter. 10 out of 10.

Came yesterday (Sunday) with a friend and was greeted at the door by a lovely young lady who seemed to have something wrong with her foot (can't remeber her name). We came for early lunch and was impressed with the vegetarian options the that looked after us I believe was called Pocket who was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and be returning. Thanks and well done to the team xx

Came today on easter Sunday and was seated somewhere straight away even though I had booked for the wrong restaurant by accident . They still found a way to seat us in a very busy time. Food was prompt and delicious and service was excellent

We had a lovely breakfast yesterday the choice was very good and everything was presented well. The staff were really very helpful and friendly we would recommend this place.

We booked a table for 6 for 1 pm yesterday to end a weekend family get together. 5 if us decided to have the carvery, and this was very good. However, my wife decided to order the superfood salad with roast chicken breast. It was advertised as having tomato, kos lettuce, red onion, bulgar wheat, chickpeas, grilled courgette, a hint of mint and a drizzle of French dressing. What arrived was not as described. No red onion, no courgette, 4 chickpeas and a dusting of bulgar wheat. She was very disappointed. We complained to the waitress, who to be fair, was very good. She spoke to the manager who offered a reduction in price and a free pudding/tea or coffee. We stared that we would not be paying for the salad and the manager agreed to this. It was a bit of a letdown to the end of our weekend get together.

The staff are very friendly our breakfast have been good, but they are always running out of things one week it will be brown bread, brown sauce, eggs,sausages, last week it was black pudding they never have decaf coffee or tea, there excuse is they are changing there suppliers lol it’s become A standard joke 🤣🤣

The best carvery but....the bar staff was blunt just like the breakfast finshes at 11 and it was 10 to 11 there was loads of breakfast left even at that time u would think they would be glad to see people rushing in for their amazing breakfast at the any time the customer service of the bar staff needs to improve to much standing around chatting about their personal life the cooking staff are great tho I went there the one Sunday n chief came out to the

Table for watever reason but just shows who working hard and pushing the sales the kitchen staff.

Visited yesterday as was staying at the attached Travelodge.



Only 8.30pm had to wait at the carvery counter a while before the chef appeared even after someone shouted service, the beef was tough the roast potatoes dry and although plenty of veg out it looked like it had been under the lights a while.

Demarara sugar served with cup of tea and a spoon long enough to stir it after you had drunk it (not a major it still worked) but the devil is in the detail.

Had a dessert which they overcharged me for but rectified when i pointed it out.

Not that busy either. So no excuse really.

Glad we were only there one night.

The food today was not up to its usual standard, I expected better quality from a Toby Cavery. The mash tasted of water, the roasters were no better. Tasteless throughout.

Roast potatoes were hard , service was awful , the waiter looked like he didn’t want to be their ,

Normally I have a carvery in the bar but went to the restaurant section with my sister . Waitress didn't come back for our drinks order, we had to get the manager as she walked past.



We had carvery, the selection of veg was not as varied as usual and much of it was under cooked. The cauliflower cheese was pretty much raw and had very little cheese sauce. The carver was very stingy, I had a king size but got less meat than a regular normally would have.



We had pudding. My sister had the Apple crumble with custard. The crumble it self was very hot, just come out of the microwave hot, but the custard was cold and only a third of the jug full. Fortunately she could get a refill on the custard. I had chocolate fudge cake with cream which was inedible as both were full of large ice crystals.





Very dissatifactory dining experience.

Birthday meal. 5.50pm all food had dried out, not impressed with it at all. Carrots, roasters, green beans all crinkled and dry. I normally love the food here, but didn’t today 😢. Hope this was a dodgy one off!

Also removed Adults version of chocolate brownie and ice cream 😢 but you can buy as child’s version ? Doesn’t make sense ..

We arrived at 12.30 for lunch it wasn't busy or anything staff saw us waiting and just total blanked us when they greeted us was rather grumpy we que up for the food and the cheif was amazing he was so polite but the food wasn't the best the veg was hard and undercooked which has made me poorly today some of the meat was a hit and miss won't be coming again even tho we being plenty of times before Iv never being poorly after eating out

Very unhappy. Booked a table weeks prior to my daughters birthday. Asked would it be a problem to request some potatoes with no milk for my allergic son, was told this wouldn’t be a problem but when we arrived today was told it couldn’t be done even if I ordered it separately from the carvery. Our tables were far apart meaning I couldn’t even eat my food with my daughter who’s birthday it was. Staff were rude and quite frankly didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Been going here years and never had a bad word to say about it until today. Our party of 11 all felt the food was below satisfactory and cold. Such a shame as I used to love eating here but won’t be coming back again now. My daughters second birthday meal was an absolute shambles I couldn’t even sit next to her.

Phoned up yesterday evening twice to find out what time you stopped serving food but both times the phone rang out. So we took our chances and arrived at toby carvery JUST gone 9pm -waited an excessive amount of time to be seated while members of staff ignored us- Then the waitress told us it was gone 9pm so we couldn't order what we wanted. Then I checked your website which states your "food service hours" are until 10pm. Not happy

Literally the worst breakfast my mom, dad and I have ever had. We enjoy going for breakfast alot and go out regularly. Today we decided to try this place and it was disappointing from the start. Upon ordering, my mom wasn't going to have anything as she wasn't feeling particularly hungry this morning, but the member of staff on the till suggested some toast, to which my mom agreed - it was only until we worked out on the receipt that she had actually charged her for a full breakfast price for some toast. Then when it came to the breakfast itself, everything (actually everything!) was swimming in oil/grease, everything looked anemic and just on the precipice of cooked and the "fizzy" drink was flat. Completely disappointing and we're currently driving home hungry.



On the plus side, my mom said the tea was nice...

Lately they have gone downhill. The Turkey last few times had gristle in it as though were unwilling to replace the carcass and the roasters were dry and hard. Think i might try harvester which is a shame as toby used to be perfection.

Absolutely shocking behaviour from a manager I’ve ever seen .

Whilst trying to separate two glasses behind the bar , the manager broke one glass in his hands and then threw the othe glass to the floor in a tantrum , put his hands in the air ,like a New Zealand rugby player doing the hacker , and shouting “YAZAR”.



I told the manager that his behaviour was discusting and I would make a complaint on trip advisor. At that point he took away a pint glass from in front of me , threw it down the sink and shouted I was Barred . The drink was another customers that had gone to the toilet.



We have visited this hotel and bar for the last 7 years and will never return
