About Tops Day Nurseries: Isle Of Wight

Tops Day Nurseries began managing the Play Station Nursery on 1 September 2009. The Play station was set for closure when consultation periods between the college and unions and Tops Day Nursery proved a successful solution.

Tops Day Nurseries: Isle Of Wight Description

Since September the nursery has been gradually growing in stature under Tops management and there have been lots of improvements implemented to the learning facilities and garden. Tops are delighted to have taken on such a beautifully resourced, purpose-built nursery, which is such an asset to the area. There are not many nurseries as spacious and which have such a lovely outside area to enjoy in the good weather. There are also healthy hot meals available.

The nursery has a capacity for 61 children aged from 3 months to 11 years. There is a breakfast club and Play Club for older children around school hours and school holidays. This club is called 'Mini Beasts'. Children of all abilities are welcome and there is access to all areas for wheelchairs.

Opening hours are 6. 45am - 7. 45pm Monday to Friday.

Last week in Investigators, we were lucky enough to have a visit from some Stick insects.
The children loved seeing these insects. Seeing how the moved, learning about what they ate and where they lived.
Some of them even had a go at holding them! Being very careful not to hurt them!
... We hope you like the photos!

This week in Investigators we have been exploring Expressive arts and design. Today the children were able to make their own musical instruments using recycled bottles and tubes.
They then incorporated these instruments into their circle time, exploring the noises they make and the different levels of noise we could hear and make.
We hope you like the video!

Recently on Tops Forest school, we went to the Riverside to explore.
Using magnifying glasses, we searched through the long grass to see what we could find.
Whilst doing this we found a worm, the children loved exploring this! Looking close up on how it moved around.
... They also participated in some risk taking. Climbing the trees, with help and guidance from the staff.
We hope you like the photos! 😄🌲🌳

Last week was sun awareness week. The children across the nursery were participating in some wonderful activities surrounding this.
In order to keep safe in the sun we also need suncream, hats and lots of water.
As the days are getting warmer, please ensure your child has appropriate clothing and creams for this weather.

On Wednesday the 8th of May please join us on Plastic Free day.
‘Plastic Free Day’ was set up in 2018 by Alex Rhodes of Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. The aim was to raise the awareness of how much single use disposable plastic we use in our everyday lives and then re-educate the local community by gaining their commitment to go ‘plastic free’ for 24 hours.
We are going to talk to the children about the impact of plastic pollution in our environment and its impact on ocea...n health.
Please join us with this great cause.
