Trippenkennett Farm

About Trippenkennett Farm

Our fishing lakes were built in 2009 and opened to the public in 2011. We also have accommodation in a converted barn and a small camping and caravan site.

Trippenkennett Farm Description

Trippenkennett farm lies in attractive countryside, popular with the day visitor and is easily accessible from Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth or Hereford. If you’re coming from further afield then we are only 10 minutes from the M50 or 25 minutes from the M4. We have lived here for over 30 years and I’m sure if you visit you will be able to see why.
We offer 2 coarse fishing lakes-
Willow has been designed with the pleasure angler in mind, sitting at 3 acres this lake contains a variety of fish species: crucian, common and mirror carp up to 10lb, through to 3lb tench, 6lb bream and roach. It is ideal for the beginner fisher or those looking to fish with a novice family member, however experienced fishers also enjoy this lake because of the range of fish available. . This lake has good access for wheelchair users.
Oak is slightly smaller than willow at 2¾ acres and contains a good selection of mirror, crucian and common carp with fish ranging up to 20lbs. No two fish are the same and all our fish are in good condition. The welfare of our fish is important to us and so you must be a competent fisher, with the right kit to fish this lake.

The sun finally shone yesterday and gave us chance to get out and about preparing the site for next weekend as well as welcoming lots of fishermen. Regulars may notice a few little changes. Richard has been busy laying new tracks and Gwyneth has been busy gardening and sorting.

User

A little late with the photos but here's our lovely wainhouse accomodation all pretty in the snow last weekend. Think it's a good job our air BnB ers postponed their trip. We look forward to welcoming them for another weekend in the near future.

Our toilet block would look at home on a Swiss ski resort today

We've enjoyed a fantastic few days away with family at Trippenkennett Farm. The facilities are great, with loads of space for the children to play football, cricket and to make new friends. Thanks for making us feel welcome.

User

We have just come home from a 1 night stay here in our Mazda Bongo camper. We fished on the Oak Lake and caught 22 beautiful Carp. The lakes are so well kept and the fish were all stunning. The site is stunning. The toilets/shower block is immaculate and we slept like logs. We will definitely be back.

User

This really is a lovely little site, very relaxed. The guys loved the great fishing and we will definitely be coming back.

User

This is the second time we have stayed at this site and on both occasions it was lovely, relaxing and everyone who we met was very friendly. The children and my granddaughter had a wonderful time with all the other kids playing football, cricket and rounders. Even the adults joined in. Richard and Gwen who own the site are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them, if they can help and sort it out they will. We met Richards and Gwen daughter and other family members this weekend and they are also very helpful, friendly and very welcoming. The fishing is also very good, we caught a lot of fish and we only fished for two days this weekend. The shower and toilet blocks are spotlessly clean and the owners are always making sure that the are kept clean. So if you want a lovely relaxing break then I would highly recommend this farm. We will be going back very soon x

User

Such a warm welcoming campsite with a tranquil atmosphere. Great facilties and plenty of space to pitch up. We all had a great time and will be back soon.

User

Our first visit here was brilliant. Very welcoming owners, clean facilities and well organised. We will definitely be back

User

Only found this campsite within the last few weeks and have stayed twice already with another weekend booked! A superb base for fishing with the lakes being less than a minute's walk from the camping fields. Toilets and showers are in excellent condition. There is a freezer on site for re-freezing your ice packs. Owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. Due to our pitch not being booked up straight after, we were not rushed to pack away either, which was nice compared to most places! See you soon :)

User

Just spent the weekend at this wonderful little site. Clean, warm facilities with plenty of hot water. Liked that there were designated recycling bins. Owners were very friendly. Great to have access to a kettle and a freezer as we don't didn't have EHU. Fabulous firepits. Would definitely return.

User

Just back from another relaxing, interesting and beautiful stay at Trippenkennet Farm in our little caravan. So much to see in the vicinity, a choice of town and country and wherever you go, you enjoy the most breathtaking views as you move in and out of the border counties of Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, Powys and the Forest of Dean, all within easy striking distance. This is a small but perfectly formed site with great shower/toilet/washing up block, fishing lakes and - peace and quiet.

User

Just back from a lovely weekend down on Trippenkennett Farm staying in my Mazda Bongo campervan. Beautiful site, tucked away and surrounded by green fields and two, well stocked fishing pools. Great place to chill out and catch up with my reading, sleeping and walking. Thank you.

I've had the pleasure of

spending over a week at Trippenkennet over two separate holidays this year and it's one of my favourite places to go with my family in our caravan. To say its tranquility itself is small praise but it's seated in the most beautiful countryside this country has to offer and the farm itself is lovely. My children loved seeing the chickens and sheep and other animals and I rarely feel more relaxed than when I did at Trippenkennet. It's gorgeous and I'd recommend it to anyone. The eggs and apple juice are pretty damn good too!!

User

Had an absolutely lovely 4 day Bank Holiday weekend camping here. Very reasonable prices per night. The shower and toilet blocks were kept beautifully clean as was the whole site. There are lots and lots of brochures of local sightseeing areas. The owners are very very friendly. I would definitely recommend this caravan and camping site to anyone who will listen to me. :D Thank you for a lovely stay.

User

First visit.. certainly won't be the last...what a beautiful tranquil location...the owners are lovely people too everybody friendly...the site is well kept and tidy shower block faultless dish washing facilities spotless ...and of course the fishing Eddie had a ball and I had great fun watching...definately recommend it ..and access to Hereford.. Monmouth...abergavenny..ross on Wye to name but a few places x

User

Difficult to find the words to describe this farm. An absolutely beautiful space with quite possibly the nicest owners you could wish to meet. We were treated like royalty, the facilities are first class & then there's the fishing. I caught more fish the week we stayed than I have done in the last 30 years & thats no exaggeration. Living in the west of Ireland we're spoilt with beautiful scenery but we will be back to Trippenkennett for a very, very long time to come.

User

Beautiful location in the countryside. Richard & Gwen are extremely friendly & helpful owners. Fishing lakes excellent. Highly recommended

Many thanks Val & John Paine
