Our telephone lines are now back up and running - a big thank you to our staff and patients for bearing with us whilst the issue was fixed.

We're unfortunately experiencing some difficulties with a number of phone lines at University Hospital this evening - we are currently working to fix the problem.
This does not affect patient care and we have put in place our business continuity plans. Please help us keep our phone lines free whist we resolve the issue.

We can confirm that earlier this morning (Wednesday 7 March), there was a small fire in an outpatient building adjacent to the West Wing of University Hospital, Coventry.
West Midlands Fire Service was called immediately. The fire is now out, after a team of firefighters attended our site.
We did need to move a small number of patients, who have been safely taken to other areas of the hospital. No further evacuations are needed. All our patients and staff are safe.
... We would like to thank West Midlands Fire Service, and also our staff who took quick action to respond to this incident.
If you have an appointment at the Hospital today, please do continue to attend unless you are advised otherwise.

It was love at first at sight for new mum Sophie.
Her beautiful baby daughter was born this morning.
Baby Adaline-Ivy Rose was a labour of love for more than one reason.
... Whilst pregnant Sophie was diagnosed with a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT) and it caused her heart to race so fast that fiancé Ben could see it beat through her clothes.
Luckily, she was referred to a joint clinic led by Consultant Cardiologist Dr Dawn Adamson, and Consultant Obstetrician Professor Siobhan Quenby at University Hospital, Coventry. The clinic enables women like Sophie to have specialist care from both heart and maternity teams.
Sophie said: “We have given Adaline-Ivy the middle name of Rose because Valentine’s Day is now extra special to us. Our daughter is everything we have dreamt of and we couldn’t be more thrilled. The care I have received has been world-class."
Share the love this Valentine's Day and give us a 'like' for all of our amazing specialists and their teams!

Can you play the piano? 🎹🎵🎶
We're looking for people to tinkle the ivories for patients, visitors and staff on the piano that's in the Union House cafe on the Ground Floor of University Hospital.
We have quite a few lovely volunteers already, but are looking for even more local musicians to join our regulars so that even more people can enjoy some music with their latte or tea. Whether you're a professional, or an enthusiastic amateur, we'd really like to hear from you.
... We would especially love for someone to play some romantic ditties for Valentine’s Day this Wednesday! 💘
If you're interested, please email Emma at healingarts@uhcw.nhs.uk
Thank you! 🎵
