Nuno Espirito Santo: "It is a great honour and privilege to be recognised by the University of Wolverhampton in this way, and I will be humbled to collect the honorary degree at Molineux on Saturday."
The honour recognises Nuno’s success over the last two seasons which have seen Wolverhampton gain recognition and attention internationally, returning a sense of pride back to the city and club. He has led the club to the Premier League after a seven year absence as well as tak...ing the team to the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley.
Nuno will receive the honorary degree in a short ceremony on the pitch before the match at Molineux this Saturday 4th. We'll be covering it across our social media platforms with the hashtag #DrNuno 🐺

Well I just completed my health studies top up degree I feel that university is excellent for both lecturers and Sec support staff have help me achieve my degree

User

Very friendly and realistic staff throughout interview process - no mind games in interviews ! All staff I have contacted with queries have been professional, quick to reply and referred when necessary to tutors - very impressed with university so far they seem to have a good understanding of what employers want from graduates - looking forward to first year of Physiotherapy BSc.

This is a fantastic place to study. I am a mature student felt the staff are very helpful and happy in their roles. The lectures are second to none provided by learned professionals who are in the top of their field. The support for disabled students is second to none compared with other public and private sectors

User

Some of the happiest days of my life were spent in this great city and learning in this great university.

User

Loved studying here, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and the lecturers are so supportive! Studying opens up a whole world of possibilities literally, I am going to be teaching in China come November an experience I would have never got had I not attended University.

User

I had a great time meeting my lectures and my cohorts. They delivered an excellent welcome programme which was well presented had a lot of fun and met some new people looking forward to starting my course in January

User

I am in my final year of an English degree and have loved it! The lecturers are really supportive and go above and beyond to help if you are willing to work hard. The University's facilities are also great and the University is developing vastly. In my time at the University two new buildings have opened. I also think that the library at city campus is brilliant and they have recently began opening it 24/7 due to feedback from students. Overall, I would highly recommend the University of Wolverhampton.

User

Great place to study and if you are looking for a university that encourages diversity University of Wolverhampton is the place to be.

User

Amazing and very supportive staff, great facilities. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who's doing Educational Studies. Both the Walsall and City campuses are great and the libraries are excellent! I'm currently on level 5 and WLV makes me happy and exciting to learn. I would recommend everyone to try the different workshops they have to offer- totally worth it. I just totally love the University life and I am definitely coming back here if I ever want to study another course or do a Master Degree.

User

Absolutely loved it... the people, the lecturers and my course were wonderful. Thank you Wolves for some of the best years of my life so far ❤️

Modem, loads of space, would not think there was so many pupils there, staff friendly. Down side not been able to stay and listen to lecture on my child subject she want to learn. Not sure about the halls of residence, does not look inviting for parents to visit, more like some where you lock people up with bars on the windows.

I faced with troubles wepe listening test today, coz early I thought that would be same with IELTS listening test, while I knew we had to answer all 25 questions after listening test part 1, it was too late for me. There was no any announcement or notice before, how to listen and how to answer the listening exam.We had to answer directly without introduction before answering the listening exam and examiner turned on the listening program urgently and there was no any introduction like IELTS exams how to answer and how much time we

got to answer,no information.I think I might get above band 6 for reading and writing , but it is going to fail because leakage in listening. And also it is very difficult to focus on the speaker's tongue in the second part of listening exam .That may be audio problem, it was so sharp .I thought that it will be same with IELTS listening. When speaker finish the speaking about five questions in part 1, I wrote my answers on my answer sheet. But, speaker didn't stop speaking and continued for next questions. So, more about five questions were failed to answer. Again, while I was listening, I was concerning and exciting when it would be stopped his saying and when I might get time to write down my answers on my answer sheets. But, speaker stopped speaking after finishing part 1.I think wepe tests are suitable only for peoples who are individuals had experienced about those exams.

User

I appreciate the parameters they use in orintating both old and prospectives students alike. Though it took me a great deal of time to carefully study all these, but at the end of the day i am satisfied with the information i got. Thanks

Education gives you the tools to be critical and constructive. University introduced me to the process of Inductive and Deductive thinking. Being able to think with evidence as a reinforcement is a strong position to be in. University education, if used wisely, can be the spring board for personal and professional growth.

Visited the Uni on their open day with my son. Initially I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised but also shocked by what we found.

The campus itself seemed very modern, bright and quite well laid out. The staff seemed very friendly and the students helping out, very helpful. Lots of answers to (naturally) lots of questions. As I said, pleasantly surprised.

The downside has the be the accommodation. This looked shocking. We saw both standard and ensuite. They were both dark, dingy and depressing. They were worse than I would expect a youth offenders institute to be.

The standard had one toilet and one small shower between 6 (get in the morning queue). A VERY basic, small kitchen with a small breakfast bar for 3 people. Not enough room for the students to socialise with each other and cook for themselves (important to help with funds).

Ensuite were slightly better. Only having 5 to share meant a little more room. Not having to share a toilet and shower and it also had a small sofa and dining table where students could sit together.

So, after a day here, my son has basically said he liked the uni but would hate to have to stay here. He's actively pursuing other options. A real shame, as I suspect a lot of the funding this place got bypassed the accommodation section.

User

University gave me grounding into academic studies critical thinking nd the ability to analyse and solve problems,Opens yr mind into a whole new world of never walking in anyone's shadows.Posessing an opinion of yr own without fear

User

Generally it was good, I was there for an evening lecture being hosted by another company, what annoyed me though is the wifi isn't free to people who aren't enrolled at UoW

User

For anyone looking to apply this is a small university. It is split over 3 campuses so although the numbers of the uni seem large they are distributed making the city campus (my main area) feel very bare and empty. It is also a uni with a lot of commuter students so if you're staying in halls you might find yourself lonely and wanting a bigger friendship group who live near you.

My course geography is only 2years old and contains very little pure geography! Dont get me wrong all content is interesting but often irrelevant and delivered poorly by an onslaught of guest lectureres with no aptitude for lecturing. Some of my coursemates are questioning their decision to study here, so really have a think before you join Wolves Uni.

User

Uni itself is good, the finance department and accommodation devices are horrible. Do not care for the fact you are a student. No sympathy or understanding for a students situation. It's a shame because I actually like the university itself. Living in halls has ruined so much for me. Wouldn't recommend living in university halls. Private halls or houses are the way forward!
