UPRAWR studios is the reincarnation of Madhouse Rehearsals.
Fully-staffed, fully-equipped, onsite bar, coffee shop and equipment shop.

UPRAWR STUDIOS!
Taking over the prestigious Madhouse Rehearsals.
A new and refurbished, better-than-ever purpose built studio complex, fully-staffed and fully-equipped.
Come and meet other musicians, rehearse with your band, socialise & unwind with our new onsite bar and coffee shop, pick up the latest records or spoil yourselves with the best equipment on the market. You’ll even be able to get support slots and gigs booked for the Asylum Venue next door.
Our team and expert staff are on hand to help, whether it’s getting the right guitar tone, helping you re-string or setting up your new bass or drum pedal- They are happy to help and get the most out of your practice.
All rooms come as standard with:
2 x Marshal half-stacks
1 x Peavey Bass stack
1 x Drumkit with Snare and breakables
1 x 600W (minimum) PA system
3 x Dynamic mics
ROOM PRICES:
Standard Room- £10. 00 per hour
Large Room- per hour £11. 00
Extra Large Room- per hour £12. 00
Cymbals and extra microphones are available to hire upon request.

Someones asked me to do Photo of the Week , We have so many Signed Skins etc on our walls. They are All real either they have rehearsed here, or played here . Except the Beatles skin, I will tell you about that one another week. Now to pick a Photo.
We've just spent 3 days in the studio with Alex who managed to get a slick and polished 4 track EP out of us. I can't say enough about the set up and the guy.
The studio is great - a comfortable environment for a singer who has to sit about for 3 days listening to the rest of the band until its her time to step up and Alex is a guy who really really knows his stuff.
Really professional,really knowledgeable and great guy. Thanks for a great job and a great product.
We cannot recommend Arkham enough. Just recorded our EP here and it is the best quality recording I have ever been involved in. Alex is a sonic genius and made my guitar sound the most punk rock it has ever sounded.
The finished tracks simply shine and have zero errors -testament to Alex's skill and quality control.
We will be back very soon.
Uprawr is absolutely my number one choice for rehearsing in Birmingham. The facilities are well presented and equipment is in good condition, unlike many other studios I've been to and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
This place is siiiiiick!!! Gig in a practice room?! Practice room with a bar?! Practice room with like genuinely decent gear!
This place has always been a favourite of Among the Echoes for rehearsals. The recent refurbishment has allowed the Management and staff to inject even more passion into ensuring a brilliant experience on every visit. Thank you :) Highly recommend a visit.
Staff were fab, equipment is good and the rooms are really spacious! Really impressed by their service.

Just finished recording with Alex at Arkham...4 tracks in 3 days is no mean feat and was only possible given Alex's commitment and expertise. The cost is the best in the area, and given this and the quality of the end product I am not surprised that he is so busy!

I've been to a few rehearsal spaces in this country and I can say without a doubt that Madhouse is the best of them all. Lovely friendly approachable staff. Great prices and awesome deals for students as well as a loyalty scheme. What is not to love?!

Great place - I'd been at Rich Bitch since the 80s and was gutted when they closed. Madhouse took my band straight in - and now we wouldn't go anywhere else. Well done Dan and the crew!

Arkham studios is an outstanding recording facility based in the Madhouse rehearsal complex. Steered by muso genius Alex Cooper the quality is nothing less than outstanding. Expect an awesome product and take your songs here as you will not be disappointed. We are currently recording Corvus' debut album 'Chasing Miracles' at this studio with Alex at the head of production and at every turn he surprises us with yet another awesome idea to breathe life into music. You want an awesome song? Then you want Arkham :)
Alex, absolutely surpassed any expectation I had in regards to what i thought the results of my bands tracks would be. There are not enough words to credit him on his wisdom, work athics and passion he had put not only into the tracks as a whole but in adding a total new dimension to my guitar playing. Cannot wait to get the rest of my band Mallen's songs recorded and produced down at Arkham Recording Studios with the cooper aka Gandalf the black!
After a venue double booked and cancelled our gig, these fine fellas hooked us up with a practice room gig, mega fun! Can recommend these guys enough!!
The refurb looks great but there is a large amount of noise bleed through from other rehearsal studios.
