Due to a minority of residents at Rifle maker, Viceroy and Derwent House apartments and Birmingham City Council listening to these narrow minded people, we unfortunately announce that Sunday 30th April will be the last night at Downstairs Bar. I would personally like to thank all the people who have attended our evenings and I'm totally gutted that the second city of our great nation does not realise the importance of individuality and support such ventures which can propel Birmingham above Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool when it comes to hospitality. With this Council we will certainly live in the dark ages. It's been humbling to see so much support for Upstairs Downstairs, I've personally met some amazing people and I wish that could carry on. In 2017 we would like more people see Upstairs Downstairs, so we are now renting the space for office and event space. Downstairs is ideal for most wanted office space in the Jewellery Quarterly during the day and also a great space to hold private events such as Pop up shops, Private parties, launches or Photo shoots. This bar has a masculine yet modern approach to its design. I loved spending my evening here with my sister and would recommend this bar to anyone! Such friendly staff and I felt extremely comfortable.

One of Birmingham's best kept secrets. Refined drinks and service and a real welcome change from the generic bars in the city centre.

Four of us popped in for birthday drinks on bank holiday Sunday evening it was first time for two of our friends each time we go we are blown away by the place,staff and service . Thanks again we hope to return many times in the future x

Amazing hidden bar, atmosphere, drinks and staff make this a must visit venue. Will be visiting again soon.

A great concept in without a doubt one of the best venues in Birmingham.

Came with friends who'd pre-booked. Despite taking the booking, the place was closed. Evidently not the first time they have screwed up like this.

Be careful about booking on facebook! ‪Really disappointed to have booked in for birthday drinks with a group of friends only to turn up and it be closed! �‬ apparently they closed because it wasn't busy enough - maybe a message to have let me know would have been nice?!
