Vehs - Vale Of Evesham Historical Society Description

Founded in 1951 the Vale of Evesham Historical Society (VEHS) functions as a local history society and as an educational resource centre, cooperates with Worcestershire Historic Environment and Archaeology Service on projects in the area, provides support for genealogical research and publishes books and monographs on topics of historical or cultural interest.

The Society has its headquarters in the Evesham Almonry Heritage Centre, which is owned by Evesham Town Council and managed with the aid of the VEHS. The Society, which is governed by a committee of officers and committee members, has been intimately associated with the Almonry Heritage Centre since it first opened in 1957.

Promoting our understanding of the history of the Vale of Evesham and its pivotal role in the history of Britain from the earliest times to the present day. The VEHS meets at the Almonry every Thursday at 7. 30 p. m. and arranges a lecture with an historical theme on the last Thursday of each month between September and April.
