About Vicarious Media - Www.Vicarious-Shop.Com
Independent publisher and retailer of motorhome, caravan and camping guidebooks and travel accessories.
Vicarious Media - Www.Vicarious-Shop.Com Description
Vicarious Media is a small, independent publishing company which was established as Vicarious Books in 2006 to publish Go Motorhoming Europe. Since then Vicarious Books have published a range of groundbreaking motorhome and camping books.
Vicarious Books have published two campsite guides Sea View Camping Britain and Camping Morocco. In 2014 Sea View Camping Britain was split into individual guidebooks: Sea View Camping Scotland, Highlands and Islands, Sea View Camping Wales and Sea View Camping The West Country. All of our guides are printed in full colour and the sites are inspected and included purely on their merits. It is not possible to pay to be included or to advertise in our guides.
In 2007 Vicarious Books published the first motorhome stopovers guide for France written completely in English, All the Aires France. The All the Aires guide series also includes All the Aires Spain & Portugal and All the Aires Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Practical Motorhome have made the following comments: 'All the Aires France, is a spectacular guide which covers exactly what it says. ' '. . . [It's] even more important than your tea bags'.
In addition to our own guides Vicarious Media sells a range of guides from other publishers. Vicarious Media is the UK agent for France Passion, Fattore Amico and the ACSI Camping Card. As experienced motorhomers and lifelong campers, directors Meli and Chris are able to evaluate the most suitable books, maps and guides on offer. Our aim is to provide the best information available, so you can make the most of your camping trip. This Brioche was a fly away success. I once saw bees taking the honey back in Marrakech but never wasps.
Camping car hookup cable trip hazard in a town square!!!
Best ever mpg with our Renault Master van conversion. 170 auto gear change. Contributing factors * 80 kph * 10 psi more in tyres * Engine cpu reprogrammed by Renault to account for weight.... What do you get on your base vehicle?

At last an improvement to the, thankfully rare, hole in one service point. Alternatively just dump it on the drain.
You can take a camper to water, but you can't make him think!
I want to turn it into a camper.
Can you see the glider?
This designer also built a famous folly, what is their first name?
Arlempdes Pui mountains. Not a bad start to our day's inspections and one more reason to buy the Beau Villages book from our website.

Who has not been here? It is still fantastic and worth the €8 per night.
Where are we?
Is the campsite receptionist doomed? Is this is the first municipal campsite to be totally automated? The future is bright the future is Burgundy.
For any of you travelling to Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, you could be one of the first to see one of these. Makes us want to find a lake somewhere and set sail!
First the bells, now the bugs... Tourists in France are becoming quite demanding.
Anyone planning on hiking in the Pyrenees may want to reconsider bringing a picnic.
1 Year and €150 Later: Not So Tolerated Parking in the Algarve
We have had a phone call from a customer who received a €165 fine for one night's parking in Armação de Pêra in the Algarve: N37°06.052' W008°21.335'. Although he paid the parking fee at the time, the police arrived in the middle of night and several motorhomes immediately left the parking area.
A year later, he was in the Algarve again when he received a call from home that a letter had arrived. It contained the... fine from the previous year: €150 for parking overnight where it was not permitted and a €15 administration fee. The Airehead confirmed that the local council is cracking down on overnight motorhome parking in this area.
Tolerated parking is notoriously unreliable and it's for this reason that we don't include areas like this in our guides. If it's not a true Aire, it doesn't go in.

The Aireheads amongst you may have experienced 'Hell's Bells' ringing at unreasonable times of the day or night at villages across France, but would you ever think to ask the local Mairie to change the chiming times to suit you? The Mairie's response to this request is perfect:
“The bells have been ringing for years, and no-one has ever complained...it is a vicarage; it is next to a church; there are bells, there are [also] flies and cockerels...voilà.”
For anyone visiting the New Lanark Mills World Heritage site, Aireheads Jean and Ken Fowler have received an email from the site confirming that overnight motorhome parking is tolerated in the visitor car park. They stressed that the car park is remote, there are no facilities and that parking would be at the motorhomer's own risk.
Jean and Ken are forever canvassing World Heritage sites and other tourist spots in Scotland, where they live, to encourage them to provide motorhome parking. If you all do the same in your local areas, perhaps we can increase the number of motorhome-friendly overnight parking areas in the UK.
Heavy rain in southern France has led to six departments being put on flood alert and 1,600 people having to be evacuated, many of them campers.
What a brilliant service you offer, subscribe to any of their guides and you save money and more on your first visit, crazy jo to have used them before, friendly & helpful, also up to date which makes a change!
We have the French aires books and the Spain and Portugal one..as newbies to motorhoming they have been our Bible,! Excellent publications..thank you for all the work you put into them.
Very impressed with your ordering process and easily found what I wanted on your site ( a map book of Europe that was not ring bound )
Trying to discover how to give you a review was another matter altogether as I am not good with Facebook.
The link that asked me to give you a review didn’t bring up any sort of easy to fill in review form.
Purchased go motorhoming and all the Aires France for my trip late last year and now couldn't go without! I class myself as quite an advanced motorhomer but go motorhoming book still gave me a lot of useful advice, have passed it onto my son now and he'll soon be buying a Vicarious Aires guide I know it!
Our all the Aires book are the first thing we pack when going abroad. They are a must and fantastic value.
I wanted to write and thank you for your 'Go Motorhoming and
Campervanning' book which was our oft-consulted-bible on our
year-long tour of Europe in a motorhome. It helped us out in so many situations and gave us the faith to believe we could really achieve our dream of taking our three kids around Europe in a motorhome for a whole year. We saw 19 countries and had the absolute time of our lives. Since returning home I have written a book about our experiences and have given you guys the due credit you deserve
by recommending your book (and your other services) in it. Thanks again! Jodi Hammond (author of 'A Family Gap Year: Europe')
I recently bought the Aires France, north and south. The books will have paid for themselves in 2 night stops. Brilliant. Ordered them online on Sunday night and they were delivered Tuesday morning. It doesnt get better than that. Customer service is second to none - l made a spelling mistake on my email address and it was dealt with straight away. Many thanks to Vicarious Media staff.
Helpful, fast and straightforward - though trying to leave a review from the link in the email isn't!
Have had every book since the start and would not be without it if travelling in France. Service is second to none and delivery quick. Emails are replied to quickly. What more can we ask?
Just keep on doing your books.
Great service and very fast delivery, I’m in Ireland, I got all the Aires books and most beautiful villages of France books and they where delivered within a week, excellent website.
Good fast service on a hard-to-find atlas.
For years had to get by with French publications, not comprehensive and campsites included. Have got every All the Aires France since Vicarious started, a great publication. Our sons buy us ACSI and France Passion for presents and this year we bought Michelin France Camping-car which looks excellent. Cannot wait to start using in next month. Staff are always very quick at responding to emails, and feel like friends with their responses.
Fantastic guides! I don't part with money easily but I never think twice about paying for any of the guides from Vicarious. I think I've got 5 guides so far all of which are worth their weight in gold. We do a lot of touring and we rarely use campsites but we've found the Camperstop Europe especially useful. I recently gave my last Camperstop Europe to someone after singing it's praises to them but it's given me a good excuse to buy the 2018 edition. I've also just bought the Car lovers guide to France for my brother, highly recommended for those petrol heads out there.
Highly recommended!!! Keep them coming!
Cannot thank these guys enough for finding us all the fantastic places to stay. Putting the time to visit and view every one.
Thank you both
