Warwick Racecourse Club Site

About Warwick Racecourse Club Site

We’ve spent over 100 years enjoying the great outdoors and we’re passionate about bringing likeminded people together. We believe it’s where the road takes you that matters. So load up, head out, unwind and enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

Warwick Racecourse Club Site Description

The Warwick Racecourse Caravan Club Site is set on a grass and tarmac enclosure within the grounds of the racecourse itself and is a mere 15 minute walk from the town centre of Warwick. Conveniently located a mile away from the M40 motorway, the caravan park gives you easy access to a large variety of fun activities, from lovely walks and a 9-hole golf course to a driving range with an area for flying model aircraft and gliders. You can also enjoy a lovely walk along the Grand Union Canal at picturesque Hatton Locks and perhaps stop for refreshments at the Hatton Lock Café.

Don’t be deceived by the picturesque Warwickshire scenery on view in the Wiggle Tempest – the countryside climbs will creep up on you soon enough as you cross the River Avon and pass through a number of quaint and pretty old typically English villages. Starting just outside Warwick, you’ll head straight onward on one of a number of the ride’s Roman roads, passing Wolverton and eventually turning off at Little Alne on what will have been plain sailing so far, as far as any gai...n in gradient is concerned.
Looping around, you’ll continue on the fast and technical small country lanes until reaching the first feed stop in Binton. Back in the saddle, it’s back onto the long and straight roads as you edge away at the miles. On the longest straight section of the course, which passes through Honeybourne, a village typical of the area, you’ll take on the biggest climb of the ride, which peaks at around 750ft of elevation gain.
The rest of the ride will feel more broken up after taking on the long straight, as you’ll pass through a number of sleepy villages on the way back to the Warwick ride HQ, where you’ll receive a finisher’s medal, t-shirt and PowerBar recovery product on completion of the ride. It’s a tough day out on the longest distance but very rewarding all the same. More information here - http://bit.ly/2ro8Zi1

We stayed here for two nights on our way back home to Yorkshire. We enjoyed our stay , taking in Warwick Castle which is 2for 1 with CC voucher. Plenty of buses to nearby towns so ideal for motor homes. Staff very friendly and helpful. If anyone is travelling to Yorkshire, Thirsk CC racetrack is also a nice place to stay.

User

We love this site, this our 9th visit, for us it's 45 minutes towing time from home and an ideal weekend retreat. The beauty of this site is that once pitched up,should you choose to you can forget the car, the town centre is about 10 minutes gentle walk. There is plenty to do in Warwick and there are excellent bus and train links to nearby attractions and towns / Cities including, Sratford upon Avon, Birmingham, Coventry etc. Overall a lovely site and another jewel in the clubs crown.

User
