We'd like to say a big thank you to naturalist Steven Falk for leading a blossom sequence and pollinator event as part of our Arden Farm Wildlife Network yesterday.
Farmers from across the area came together to learn how to make changes to improve their farms for wildlife.
It was fascinating to hear Steven's passion for invertebrates, trees and pollinators! Read on for advice on attracting pollinators to your garden https://www.warwickshirewildlifetrust.org .uk/…/how-make-be...e…

Great news! We're working in partnership with Rugby Borough Council (RBC) to help make your local green spaces great places for people and wildlife. Last year's trial of reduced grass cutting by RBC brought new species of plants, moths, butterflies and dragonflies to sites for the first time. The UK has seen some of the biggest declines in wildlife anywhere in the world and our green spaces can play their part in nature’s recovery.
Longer grass, which is cut less often, is ...better for wildlife as it allows wild flowers to grow and provides a home for small mammals, insects and other species. Wild flowers are vital for pollinators like bees and butterflies and their pollination of fruit, vegetables and cereal crops provides us with one in every three mouthfuls of food. By helping pollinators we help people too!
RBC's plan is to create urban meadows in 13 more sites in the borough, maintaining access for you, whilst at the same time helping wildlife.

You have to laugh at all the fish fiddlers giving 1 star reviews because of an otter picture. Have they nothing better to do like maybe go and pose for a photo with a fish suffocating? I used to fish when I was a kid but soon realised outsmarting a fish isn't really that difficult, in fact it was boring. So I took up scuba diving to see fish in THEIR environment. Far more fun and way more interesting. Don't forget to clear up any discarded line and hooks after yourselves, wouldn't want to harm any wildlife would you. Just as well you can't use lead shot now. Whose bright idea was that to use lead in rivers and lakes, a highly toxic substance? How many swans died to make you all see sense? You're a bleedin menace.

Took my elderly Mum and my two children today to explore the Brandon Marsh reserve and also booked them onto the Wildlife Watch. The 1hr long watch was fantastic, worth every penny. We went pond dipping and uncovered a wonderful amount of bugs, larvae and even newts! Then we had a walk to a meadow where the guide told the kids how to make a bird treat which was a combo of seeds and a dob of honey. We then all attempted to make our own bird nests with various twigs and leaves on the ground with each child being given a bird puppet to hold and sit on each nest :-) My children (6) and (3) were enthralled throughout and we finished our session with a lesson in making another bird feeder out of Cheerios ! The guide was brilliant and I thought the whole session was perfect for the age of my children and relaxed but engaging. Would highly recommend we all support this fantastic trust and get down there and enjoy the wildlife.

User

Took my 2 year to one of the themed nature classes in the woods (winter animals), he absolutely loved it. Lots of imaginative outdoor play and exploration, brilliant idea to get children interested in nature and the outdoors... The staff are warm and friendly, a lovely experience... will definitely be back!

User

The best of my local Wildlife Trusts, friendly people, helpful staff and rangers. Lots of different lakes and habitats for the wildlife.

User

Thank you to Rosie and the other rangers for a great 3 days on the ‘Call of the Wild’ camp. My son and his friend had a wonderful time den building, fire lighting and wood carving. And it kept them away from the Xbox!

User

Thank you to Katie and Ellen for showing us how to make dens, fairy potions and fairy gardens. Ella-Rose had the most incredible day and was so engaged! She topped it off by getting very muddy in the mud kitchen making 'stinky' cheesecake for daddy's birthday Love coming here - great for kids

User

Such an important group, fighting for our local wildlife. So many good projects & plenty of opportunities to volunteer & learn something new about the flora & fauna of Warwickshire.

User

Protecting wildlife from those who see killing small animals as a fun thing to do - keep up the good work and ignore the trolls who are leaving negative reviews.

User

If you like peace and quiet, then the nature reserve at Brandon marsh is definitely worth a day out to, lots of birds and wild flower meadows

User

I just really want to say thank you for all the amazing work you do on nature preservation, helping wild animals and also providing a wonderful educational day out for families like mine. Keep up the good work!

User

Have recently volunteered with the Help for he Hedgehogs campaign, the support and knowledge of the team is great and they really have supported us.

User

Fantastic reserves, wonderful activity sessions, excellent tea room - recommended for all. Thank you for all that you do on behalf of wildlife in the region.

User

Came here on Saturday (Brandon) for a birthday party. Den building, potion making, so much fun! The staff were fantastic and it made for a very enjoyable day! Thank you

Will definitely come again

User

Brilliant pictures of animals doing natural things to survive and trying to help after mankind is hell bent on destroying their natural environment. Though I fear you may have some wildlife crimes being committed at some point with all your otter haters that feel only they can kill fish and nothing else can. Keep up the good work

User

Beautiful day, what a find! enjoyed all the walks and hides. Lot's of wildlife to watch and plenty of opportunities for a photograph. Thank you for the large pot of tea and super selection of yummy cake. One of our favourite places to return xx

User

Awesome place with friendly people, thank you for all your work protecting our wildlife (and entertaining the children.) Your educational and conservational values are hugely needed.

User

Always have a great time where ever the WWT are. Brandon is an excellent reserve. Offering all kinds of family friendly activities. Helping to teach our youngsters the importance of nature and how we all live along side each other.

User

It was ok,very dissapointed the hide windows wouldnt open that looks onto the bird feeders! And also the fact the feeders were empty!! As a bird watcher/ photographer this hide is pointless

User

I was just wondering if you could provide more information on your toileting facilities for disabled people? My daughter (aged 14 & a wheelchair user) would enjoy many of the events you hold. You say the routes in your Solihull one are flat & accessible, but only say there are disabled toilets. A disabled toilet can mean many things. Do they include rails - 1 or 2? A changing bench? A hoist? It would be great if you could include this information. Thank you.
