The Wednesfield Magazine has just learnt of the sad passing of a good friend, Jean Shinton. You will be sorely missed by all of your friends and family. At the same time, you will be fondly remembered for all of your hard work in the community and your smile will never disappear from our memories. RIP Jean xxx

It's voting day for the local council tomorrow (nothing to do with MP's, so don't blame them for Brexit!) This year, we have the unusual situation of two council seats up for grabs in Wednesfield South (Wednesfield North and Fallings have one as normal). So, when you vote, you will be allowed to vote for two candidates. The staff on duty will advise if you're still not sure.

Tickets for the 2019 Grand Slam of Darts will go on General Sale at 10am this Friday 26 April.
Following last year’s successful venue move from the Civic Hall, where refurbishment work continues, the tournament will return to Aldersley Leisure Village (WV Active Aldersley) on Aldersley Road in November.
32 players from both the PDC and BDO systems will compete across nine days at the hugely popular tournament.
... The Sky Sports-televised event initially sees the 32 split into eight groups of four for the round-robin phase over the opening four days from Saturday, November 9.
The top two players from each group then progress to the knockout stages before the tournament concludes with the semi-finals and final on Sunday, November 17.
This year's event will see Gerwyn Price defending the title he claimed last November following a controversial final against Gary Anderson, who is also set to be in action in Wolverhampton.
PDC World Champion Michael van Gerwen, new UK Open champion Nathan Aspinall, Players Championship Finals winner Daryl Gurney and World Youth Champion Dimitri Van den Bergh have also qualified so far for November's event.
In addition, World Championship finalist Michael Smith, former Grand Slam runner-up James Wade, 2018 World Champion Rob Cross and German youngster Martin Schindler are also set to compete on the Grand Slam of Darts stage.
Further PDC players can qualify by reaching the finals of televised tournaments in the coming months, including at the Premier League – which is currently in action on Thursday nights ahead of May’s Play-Offs – and the forthcoming World Cup, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and European Championship.
Tickets on General Sale will be available through the following Box Offices:
• SeeTickets via http://pdc.seetickets.com • Ticketmaster via www.wolvescivic.co.uk or 0870 320 7000
Disabled Access Tickets are available by calling 01902 550969.
