Wigginton Parish, St Leonard'S And Spital Chapel

Thanks to ‘Forever Flowers designed by Audrey’ (on Facebook) for sharing her outstanding floristry talent at this afternoons MU meeting. Audrey demonstrated three fabulous floral arrangements using mainly foliage and garden flowers. The arrangements will be used in church this weekend. A lovely afternoon of friendship and fellowship.

Our Teddy Bear’s picnic was enjoyed by all the attendees and bears on Saturday. We look forward to welcoming you all to another service soon.

TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC - 3.00pm on Saturday 6th July in Church grounds. All children and their special teddies are welcome.

At our last MU meeting we had a talk by two inspirational ladies from the charity The Young Ones Burton, a local group based in Burton who provide emergency gift boxes for local underprivileged children. We are looking forward to supporting this group by, among other things, knitting baby jackets and hats.

The gazebo’s are up thanks to just some of our great fete volunteers, others have been busy preparing stalls of plants, games, tombolla, raffle, cakes and all sorts ready for tomorrow. We also will have some great entertainment from local children and by popular request the return of Vic’s bar b que. We’ll be there whatever the weather and hope you can join us from 1pm

Summer fete preparation is in full swing. If you have any tombola prizes, bottles for bottle stall (drink, toiletries etc), paperback books, or small prizes for children’s games that would be wonderful. There’s a box at the back of church for donated items. If you can help on a stall please let us know, your help would be most welcome. Plants and cakes can be donated on the day of the fete, June 15th, make sure date is in your diary!
