Our born and bred Brummie chef and part time model, Alex Claridge, visited the beautiful landscape of Islay a few months back and won’t stop talking about it. Clean air, fresh fish and amazing whisky - sounds dreamy. We can’t promise fresh air but the rest should be covered..
On Wednesday 29th August, Wilderness will offer a escapism from the city in the form of a 6 course tasting menu. For those of you that dislike fish, this ev...ent probably isn’t for you! Pescetarians, this one’s pretty much for you - please make us aware when booking if you do not eat meat.
We will also offer a Islay Whisky based drinks pairing using Bowmore and Laphroaig distillery (you can opt in/out on the evening) as well as a bespoke drinks list.

We are searching for new humans to join our small but mighty team at our Jewellery Quarter restaurant. The ideal candidates will have a passion for food and drink but most importantly, we are looking for people with personality. Our guests come first so you must genuinely enjoy interacting with people as well as... having a genuine, kind nature.
The role will be part-time over 4 days (Wed-Sat) and will include a mixture of daytime and evening shifts.

What an amazing experience. Me & my partner have experienced many tasting menus. Without a doubt this was the best! We had the 8 plates with drinks pairing. This was phenomenal. Each drink matched the course it was served with perfectly. We loved that the drinks were a mixture of wines, cocktails, vermouth! Each time a new plate came it was better than the last. The waitress had told us this, but we disagreed thinking 'there's no way they can beat what we've just had'. But they did. Every time!

My partner went as far as saying the pineapple dessert was the best dessert he had ever had (he really isn't big on desserts either so that was really surprising).

The decor was beautiful and the lighting is Perfect for all your Instagram needs. We also loved the choice of music. Very uplifting. Every time a new song came on it reminded me of my early teen days when my playlist would have been identical to the restaurants.

The staff were super friendly, very attentive & the most important thing, a great sense of humour.



I can honestly say this experience was perfect. We cannot wait to come back!

What a fabulous restaurant. The taster menu is brilliant and the equal of any fine dining place you care to think of, we also had the drinks pairing and this really matched the food well. The best thing about the drinks was that it wasn't just wine. The service is informal and unfussy and the place is all the better for it. The music is awesome and I will be back. On a final note, we went for my wife's birthday and they treated us to a glass of sparkling wine each. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We dined with you for the first time on our wedding anniversary last Friday (15th). It was amazing! The experience began from the minute we walked in. Really different, only about 20 covers & they don't fill them all up straight away. Lovely friendly service with s description of each dish as it came to you. Each dish displayed with visual impact. Loved the quail dish best, but they were all gorgeous. Would definitely recommend for somewhere different to go to.

Last night we celebrated NYE at @wildernessbirmingham and despite serious technical and staff issues we had an amazing meal and service from James and Alex who piled us with (free) flowing alcohol. Today we were offered a complimentary meal at their new restaurant to apologise for yesterday and that it was not as perfect as they wanted it to be. I can't stress how impressed I am with their customer service and this gesture is testament of how great the restaurant will become soon. Thank you Alex.

Had an amazing birthday lunch yesterday with my family...each mouthful was delicious, the food is innovative and beautifully presented, and the staff are really friendly. Cannot commend James the sommelier enough was very impressed with his knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. Really cannot wait for the flagship to re-open, but in the meantime this little gem is an absolute must to visit, and we will be back.

Fabulous restaurant with an intimate atmosphere. It's very clear the chefs and staff care about the experience you have. You can see them in the kitchen, including the owner, adding intricate detail to each plate. The food was remarkable and exciting, with delicate complimentary flavours, and exciting new ingredients not seen before in the regular restaurants. This was my birthday treat from my husband as he knows I'm a huge foodie. I feel I've experienced something very special. Thank you to the team at wilderness. We'll be back.
