We went the Toy and Steam Fayre yesterday at Winterbourne and had a wonderful time. The pool set up for boats provided several hours of fun for the children. The gardens were beautiful. The refreshments were tasty. Scone, cream and jam gorgeous! What a treasure Winterbourne is and the staff working there are lovely. Thank you for a great day out. X

We visited this stunning house and gardens earlier today with our little Granddaughter. We thought all the grounds and plants were a stunning array of colour. Enjoyed the bluebell woods too and the afternoon Tea and cake under a sun parasol. A perfect Bank Holiday Monday place to visit in the glorious sunshine.

We spent a lovely sunny Spring day in Winterbourne House and Gardens this week. It is an oasis of tranquillity not far from the centre of Birmingham, and well worth a visit if you are in the city. The Spring flowers were out and the shrubs and trees were beginning to blossom. The garden is beautifully kept and a tribute to the staff who work there. The house is interesting and there is plenty of information about it's background. The cafe is also worth a visit. My 4 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed his day there, from acting out a story using the puppet theatre in the Nursery, to hopping over the stepping stones in the garden. We will certainly visit again and look forward to seeing the garden at other times of the year.

User

We love it here! Peaceful and beautiful! We had a lovely afternoon yesterday exploring and picnicking - our four year old loved it!

User

Spent a lovely afternoon there yesterday despite it chucking down. Three of us strolled round the garden ooing and aahing at the displays of plants and flowers. Making wish lists (californian tree poppy please) of what we wanted for ourselves. Feeling jealous we didn't have the space, time, energy, money for something similar. Had a nice lunch in the tea room then wandered around the house admiring the arts and crafts furniture and William Morris wallpaper. Inspired my sister to go looking for wallpaper afterwards. Despite the rain we had a lovely time and thoroughly recommend it as a place to visit.

User

Lovely afternoon out for my mums birthday.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch in the tea room.

Gardens were beautiful and my granddaughter especially liked the nursery room in the house.

The gentlemen in the printing room were very interesting too.

User

I volunteer at Hope Community Shop Vintage club & visited on a day trip, the gardens are a real gem.

Our welcome was amazing so friendly & kind with a talk sharing some history of the house, very accommodating. Thanks to all the staff for that extra care a nice touch.

Also accessible to those who are less mobile, we borrowed a scooter and wheelchair which was appreciated to see the gardens.

User

Had a lovely time there. Gardens are beautiful .We loved the greenhouses and Japanese bridge. The house is full of memories of the family who lived there with letters and photos giving you an insight to the Edwardian way of life. Wouldn't have like a servants life !

User

Great customer service, very nice staff

User

Enjoyed wandering through the rooms of the house, and were particularly impressed with the little interactive show in the first room. It felt as though the gentleman of the house was in there with us! The gardens were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to explore, and the terrace overlooking the gardens is the perfect place to enjoy refreshments. Although we don't live too far away this was our first visit, which was mainly to attend the antiques valuation event hosted there by Biddle & Webb. Glad we went now as we might never have stumbled across this hidden gem. Would thoroughly recommend!

User

Beautiful oasis in a busy part of Birmingham. I love the tea room and the terrace. I can highly recommend their homemade cakes. The gardens are packed with flowers and there are lots of interesting places to explore.

If the weather is not so good you can explore the house and learn about the Nettlefold family.

User

Beautiful house in delightful gardens. A treasure in the heart of the city.

Good cafe too and if you're lucky enough to have good weather, you can sit out on the patio.

User

Beautiful hidden gem of Birmingham. Had w lovely day looking around the gardens which were in full bloom. Very peaceful place. Fab little cafe with very friendly staff. I would go back.

User

Beautiful day spent here. It's very relaxing, perfect English afternoon tea served with cakes, sandwiches, strawberrys and cream and scones too. The house is very interesting and the walks in the beautiful gardens very peaceful. Great say out girls all the family.

User

Beautiful Oasis in the middle of the City. Tea room excellent also. Gardeners do a fabulous job of keeping the gardens looking wonderful. Added bonus is looking around the house. Excellent day out and good value for money

User

Amazing place, a hidden gem. Why have I not been here before? The staff were so helpful, chatty, friendly and full of information. The food on the cafe was tasty and value for money. The gardens were a haven of peace and quiet.

I gave to say go on a Friday! The printing press guys are in and printing. Such an interesting history and process. Both are full of knowledge and helpful.

I honestly can't fault this place, will be back x

User

A hidden gem often overlooked, the gardens were an absolute delight and so well maintained. The cafe staff were extremely cheerful and like the other staff very helpful. Both the lunch and afternoon tea were delicious, and I do enjoy a good cup of tea not just a splash of hot water in a pot so will certainly visit again.

User

Very attentive cafe staff who were both delightful. Lovely high tea which was best I've had here in years. Like many locals we just came for tea and cake and a quick potter around the garden. Only constructive criticism is that you can't buy hardly any of the plants that you see in the mixed flower beds and pots of summer bedding which is a shame as lots of people would like to re create some of these at home
