About Worcestershire County Council

The official Facebook page for Worcestershire County Council. We're here to help.

Worcestershire County Council Description

Worcestershire County Council provides a huge range of services for the residents and businesses of Worcestershire. These include facilities such as schools and libraries, the provision of care for vulnerable and older residents, road maintenance, and supporting economic and social development across the County.

The County Council works in partnership with a number of local businesses, voluntary organisations and other local authorities such as District and Parish Councils.

A Prosperous Worcestershire is the vision of the new Corporate Plan 'Worcestershire Fit for the Future'. It sets out the issues in our key areas of focus and what we are setting out to achieve, which involves a change in direction and significant improvement in the case of 'Open for Business' and 'Children and Families', to lever maximum advantage from 'The Environment' and to ensure we make a success of our new responsibility for 'Health and Well Being'.

This summer, two tours will give the public a chance to explore The Hive and learn more about Worcester’s iconic golden building.
The ‘Archaeology Tour’ will allow the public to take a closer look at the area surrounding the building, whilst ‘Behind the Scenes Tour’ does exactly that; taking in the archive strong rooms, conservation studio and archaeology finds room in greater detail.

Worcestershire County Council continues to invest more money into Adult Social Care year-on-year, helping the county’s vulnerable adults to live healthier, more fulfilled lives, and live independently.
Angela and Malcolm had heard about Reconnections, commissioned by us and run by Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire to tackle loneliness and isolation, and referred themselves for this free service.

We’ve been working with Professor Peter Gore and his research to develop the LifeCurve™. People lose their ability to do simple, everyday tasks in a predictable order and this includes cutting your toenails. We’re encouraging people to plan for their future and make decisions to maintain independence and mobility, visit http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/makingad ecision #CutYourToenails
