Plastic Free July Day 2. You might think this is a โmake your own smoothiesโ post. Nope. . When you see it, just pick up litter. Did you know some UK rivers are more polluted with plastic than the Great Pacific Garbage Patch? ๐ You might not have time to join dedicated local litter picks but if you pass litter (this was outside a Sainsburyโs of course) then pick it up and recycle it if possible (hence why this came home with me). Have a great day everyone. ๐
First day of Plastic Free July and a swap that not only costs nothing extra but can actually save you money! ๐ . We were off to the park, so instead of splurging in the cafe or shop I packed us all a lunch. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks all packed single use plastic free. ๐ณ Old tubs, beeswax wraps and washable wipes are just the thing for a pack up with nothing to put in the bin afterwards. ๐ . Plastic Free July is all about taking a little more time and effort to change your habits. If everyone simply takes a bag, bottle and cup with them we really can change the world! ๐
Our shampoo bar maker won an award! ๐ So well deserved, well done Rosie Organik Orangutan. ๐We love supporting other small businesses, shop small all the way! ๐
Had quite a few people asking so hereโs the next two pop ups, both this weekend. ๐๐๐Make a great start to Plastic Free July by coming down to see how zero waste shopping works. Weโve reduced the cost of the most popular cleaning product refills by 20% too so donโt forget your bottles. ๐ง๐ Leamington event: https://www.facebook.com/events/836343303 390790/?ti=icl Warwick event: https://www.facebook.com/events/211240978 5723029/?ti=icl
Change is coming!!! ๐
Little bit of fun for a Friday night. ๐
๐ข Plastic Free July is just a couple of days away! ๐ข This weekend, why not take 5 minutes to have a look at https://www.plasticfreejuly.org. You can sign up for the challenge, simply find out more, or get some handy hints and tips. โ
. โน๏ธ Plastic Free July isnโt about chucking away plastics you already own and use!๐ฌ Use what you have! Itโs about avoiding bringing more plastic into your home- especially single use. . We shall be sharing simple tips or blog posts every weekday (which people can catch up on at the weekend, when we are busy with our events). Even if you just take on board a few new habits it can make a huge difference to our planet. ๐๐

This article makes us so sad. ๐ We have to keep the faith that our small changes DO add up! Plastic Free July is coming up. Weโll be sharing some useful links in the run up and some daily tips throughout the month to help you reduce your impact on our planet - without needing to spend lots of extra money. https://www.theguardian.com/โฆ/all-the-p lastic-ever-made-stuโฆ
Weโve been asked by Warwick University to share some info that ties in with this important message on waste reduction for students. If you are able to help out with the RAWKUS initiative, you can sign up here. www.warwick.ac.uk/rawkus2019 As a result of the hard work put in by this group, thousands of perfectly useable and edible items are saved from the bin each year. ๐ ๐ ๐
This is the lovely family company that deliver milk across Nuneaton & Coventry. Very friendly and great value! Brilliant to see they are so busy. Now we just need some dairy free alternatives in glass too. ๐ Luckett's Dairy
Noodles! As well as our loose thick noodles we now stock fine noodles too. Perfect cooked with our curry powder and coconut milk for a laksa. ๐ Plus the new herbs and spices have been collected- a circular system using returnable containers (as our old supplier packed them in plastic). Another product sourced zero waste and locally. โ
Weโve added Garam Masala, Ground Ginger, Chilli Flakes, Sweet Smoked Paprika, Basil and Baking Powder to our range. Let us know if you want these putting in your local Mini-Zero. โน๏ธ You can find what is where here: https://docs.google.com/โฆ/1l4Oi_nbgE6Hl nB9iEq-1UiPO8SgqALg9โฆ List for Coventry Fargo here (open on Sundays!): https://docs.google.com/โฆ/1XE6ZlOMU8hsp 31mG8_B4kazfwrN3cUJrโฆ
