606 Recovery

Use them regularly to collect vehicles for me.

Travelling to Knaresborough from Warrington via the M62 towing my caravan with my trusty old Mercedes to take my kids away for October half term we topped the crest of Saddleworth Moor, 1442 ft above sea level. It took its toll on the old beast and the clutch pedal stopped working. Luckily we were able to get on the last bit of hard shoulder before the slip road joined on the left of us. I called the AA, they sent a lovely man from 606 recovery (sadly I forgot to take his name), he was having a very busy day but he got to us as soon as he could.

It turned out something had over heated (dont ask me, I just turn the ignition key), apparently its a common occurrence after the stress of that hill on an engine. It had cooled down while we had waited and when he tried the clutch it worked again, miracle!!! happy days!!!

Now he could have said goodbye at that point , but he didnt, he escorted us to the service station at Hartshead Moor, satisfied himself that all was well with us and the car and went off to rescue the next stranded motorist on his list.

So I want to say thank you to my mystery rescuer and sorry for not getting your name in my panic over the car and our journey. We had a lovely few days in beautiful Knaresborough, York and Harrogate, all thanks to him.

Not sure if I've got the right guys. If you was out round Heptonstall and widdop gate on Friday 8th December thank you so much for rescuing the scouts with the trailer going to Blakedean. You were legends!!!!! Thanks so much

Have to say me and my girls have had the best end to a family day out through breaking down!? Strange but true , after suffering a flat tyre miles from home with no spare you'd have thought a nightmare for most but 606 sent Jason who made the whole process slick and positive, involved the kids by demonstrating how the flat bed operated etc and they had a ball... thanks so much and I hope Jason is recognised for his efforts as he is an asset to the company! Thanks again fantastic service !!!

Excellent service recovered my 4x4 and trailer with livestock on m62 took me to destination and back to their garage to fix my 4x4 same day. Did evething and beyond. Great team. I would 100% recommend them to anyone. Thanks

Very inconsiderate staff. Having been on our residential street for over half an hour, it's taken two tow truck staff to unload one car. You've woken several households up with no respect for those of us with young children. It's now 23:42 and they are laughing and joking in the street smoking. What a joke.
