Im always constantly educating myself with anything skin and a couple of weeks ago I signed up to MASCED Melanoma and Skin Cancer Early Detection Accreditation Programme and I’m so glad I did! I was simply blown away by the unbelievable facts and statistics involved with this disease and after reading all the information, educating myself a little, and speaking with a client who had had a similar experience I took a trip to the GP (which I would usually put off for a while) t...o discuss my concerns thinking they would tell me I was being silly and over the top. Within a week I’d seen a dermatologist, had body mapping done and was referred to have this teeny, but very dark mole (which has only appeared in the last couple of months) removed! Now, I won’t be scare mongering or preaching as we all know what we should be doing to be sun safe but unfortunately, most of the time we don’t! Over the next few weeks and months I might do a few posts with facts and information and use this as a way of educating and raising awareness to us all to be sun safe and to learn what we should be doing to protect our skin and how we can all become more aware of what’s going on with it by checking it regularly for anything you think might be suspicious or any changes. It’s all about the facts, prevention and early detection!
