Went on a very busy Saturday night. Manager and staff were brill and friendly. Apologised for the wait. The food was fantastic, the service was amazing. Banter with the staff makes all the difference. Will deff be back, will just book next time.

User

Went here in Thursday with my husband even though my husband wasn't well and only had water . The staff were lovely and the food excellent . Think we have probably tried all the Asian restaurants in wakefield this was our first here and it is by far the best. You will most definitely be seeing us again thankyou

Visited here this evening with my beautiful other half after originally heading towards Wakefield for a regular date night. Upon arriving we was immediately seated and greeted by lovely staff. We ordered two starters, mushroom pakora and garlic mushrooms which were absolutely fabulous. Both me and my partner throughly enjoyed the food and was very impressed with the service considering how busy this little gem of a restaurant is. Immediately after our starters the restaurant began to fill up and clearly some of the staff looked to be struggling to keep up with the demand of some (less appreciative) customers but still managed to bring out the remainder of our food in great time. The food was by far the best I personally have eaten at a Indian restaurant with great flavour and perfect portion size. The manager was very amusing and was keen to interact with the customers making sure food and service was on point.

Thankyou very much Amaia Restaurant, we will definitely be returning :)

User

The resturant was really busy as you would expect on New Years Eve, the staff were really amazing the food was served with a smile and the food was also amazing served on warm plates as should be. It's a place I shall return too.

Me & my other half was first introduced to this restaurant as our usual changed hands and since our first visit we havnt been anywhere else, we eat here pretty much on a weekly basis, to the point when we have been 3 times in one week! (We're not fatties either, you can order grilled chicken, rice and salad!) The food is great, never once had any issues, no matter how busy it has been the food and staff have always been 110%. We set off to different restaurants but always end up doing a detour and going here to avoid disappointment anywhere else. We highly recommend to all our friends and family. Food is great, clean place and staff are fantastic can't do enough to please you. :D

User

Had a meal for my dad's birthday, was really happy with the service, food was outstanding didn't have too wait, and gave an option of when we wanted our mains after starters. Excellent

User

Arrived at this restaurant last night, Friday evening, had not booked. The staff organised a table in seconds saying we could have the table for an hour. Plenty of time for the two of us. Great menu. Had onion bhaji to start, followed by chicken dopiaza, yes we like onions!!. The meat was very good, both dishes were perfect. Chatted to the owner who is very welcoming along with his very efficient staff. Definitely recommend Amaia restaurant, Wakefield is very lucky to have this restaurant in our city. Thank you all for a wonderful evening. Hope to see you more often over the next few months.

User

Always a warm welcome at Amaia. Most recent visit was a last minute decision on Thursday evening for an early evening meal. The early bird menu at £10.95 is outstanding value with the usual high quality food evident in every course. It is a pleasure to dine in such comfortable surroundings with professional and friendly service.

Special mention to our waiter, Malik, who looked after us so well!

User

Absolutely beautiful food. We didn't book and four of us turned up with a toddler. Staff immediately went for a high chair. We were quickly seated. Drinks were brought swiftly. The starters were excellently presented and tasted fantastic.

The main meal was absolutely gorgeous, yet again well presented and plenty of it. The staff were good too. Would definitely recommend

User

A delight to eat there, such well mannered waiters and the food is 5 star. Our favourite place to eat in Wakefield, nothing is too much trouble . Unfortunately will miss them for 2 weeks now as where away on our jollies shortly, rest assured we'll be back there on our return!!!!

User

Mixed opinions.. visited last night with a group of friends. I waited so long at the bar to buy a drink, despite several male staff members popping in and out of the area. I wasn't even acknowledged by them! Thankfully the young female waitress served me despite being in the middle of another order. The service she gave throughout the evening was great, she's a real asset to the restaurant.

We were given pickles & popodums despite not ordering any and were charged for these!

My meal arrived wrong and I was asked 3 times if it was Chicken or lamb I had ordered?

The two cheesecakes ordered for desert were inedible as they were frozen!

A little disappointed....

User

Arrived without a booking Seated immediately Horrid odour in the air.asked to be moved. Most Indian restaurants I've been to offer popadom and pickle tray but no offer Took drinks order 2 pints of Draught Cobra although didn't taste like Cobra to me. Sizzling veg starter Mushroom Onion Potato. Mains arrived piping hot but quickly went cold despite being in cast balti dishes. Ordered Chicken Madras but had the strength of korma..coffee to finish.(Hot) Table nearby 3 woman received Pops and Pic,e tray immediately but were left waiting for drinks to arrive and had to ask again. Toilets excellent. Overall had expected better after reading trip advisor reviews and friends recommendation. The hideous smell I would put down to the kitchen extraction system.

User

*3.5 The price of food and drinks is pretty much what we've come to expect when eating out, expensive but not much different to anywhere else.

The starters we had were fresh and tasty. The curries were good - we went for old favourites like Madras and Rogan Josh . I asked for an amendment to mine and that was no trouble.

So nearly gave a 4 star but we were overcharged on three dishes on the menu. The waiter put this right so I guess it could have been a genuine mistake. It's just a shame to have to raise an issue when you go out for a special meal.

The menu I was given was pretty sticky with food residue so perhaps a little attention to small detail like this wouldn't go a miss.

User

Went with 6 others and a toddler, I'm not a fan of spicy food and neither is the toddler but as they have a continental selection I thought I'd be fine, turns out all non spicy food was unavailable and the only options for me and toddler was curry ... I had a basket of chips to share with the toddler .. hardly a meal

Apparently no chef was available who could cook any of the non spicy selection.

User

We came here on Father's day - 2 adults and 1 child - 5 pm - The 3 courses for £10-95 and a beer / soft drink ....was the selling point that attracted us .

Arrived to empty restaurant- after ordering drinks we were brought the menu and when we asked about the offer which was still advertised in the foyer - We were told ' we don't so it on special occasions ' --- We should have left - i know !! - But we had been looking forward to it all day and were hungry

3 starters and 2 meals later we hardly had change from £100 - oh and we don't drink !!

NEVER again - Should NOT advertise offers and deny customers once seated - - to add to it we are all ill the following day !!

Thanks but no thanks - Really felt ripped off !
