OH HOW I MISS THIS PLACE!...
I had a little visit to the salon today to check in on things and forgot how peaceful and calm it is there! Even without the music, soft lighting and pampering hands it felt like such a nurturing place to be 🥰
There are sooooooo many things I miss about being at work... The daily giggles with the girls, the friendly chats with all of our lovely clients and the normality of a daily routine.
... The one thing I have realised that I miss the most however is helping people feel better about themselves. Whether it be with a simple brow shape or a therapeutic massage - throughout my whole time in Beauty and Spa work of 20+ years this has been my ultimate goal which is why as a salon owner I would never finish being ‘hands on’.
In some ways I have left feeling quite helpless as our therapies would work wonders in helping to deal with all the stress, anxiety and worry we are struggling with right now 😔
I’d love to hear what you miss the most at Amethyst and maybe we can somehow help you create your own little piece of Amethyst at home until we reopen ❤️

H A N D A N D N A I L C A R E
I’m sure you’ll agree that all the hand washing and alcohol gels are really taking their toll on our hands and nails.
For some quick fixes we have put together a few remedies that you can find in your kitchen cupboard and fridge!... Bonus! 🤗
... PLANT BASED OILS such as olive, coconut and sunflower oil are great to replenish the lost oil content in the skin and can also be used as a massage medium to help ease stress and reduce anxiety. Take a small amount and massage into your (or family member’s) hands and leave for a minimum of 20 minutes. Rinse the excess with lukewarm water and repeat daily for the best results.
To ease flakiness we recommend adding a teaspoon of sugar to your chosen oil or to a hand or body lotion. Massage into your hands for 3-4 minutes and then rinse in warm water... You will not believe how much better they’ll feel!! Repeat this no more than 2-3 times a week 👐🏻
For an extra soothing treat we recommend a homemade HAND MASK once a week. Blend the following ingredients together, apply to the hands (and feet if you wish) then wrap in cling film for 15-20 minutes.
Ingredients: 1 ripe avocado, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of plain yoghurt

As a symbol of hope Esme (my daughter) has painted a #rainbowofhope which we have put up in our front window for other children to see when they are out for their daily exercise.
The Rainbows were originally introduced in Italy as families went into lockdown and are now appearing in windows across the UK.

It is with great sadness and an extremely heavy heart that I wish to inform you that Amethyst will sadly be closed from now until further notice.
Due to the ongoing spread of Covid-19 and following the official announcements last night stressing the importance of social distancing, I feel this is the right decision for both the Amethyst team and our much valued customers.
... The past 24 hours have been a constant cycle of research, reflection, contemplation and hesitation and in all honesty my team and I have explored every avenue to seek a way which would enable us to continue to treat our clients in as safe an environment as possible, but sadly this is way beyond anything we have ever experienced or anticipated and we must accept there is no alternative.
We want you to know that time out from hands on therapy will not be wasted and we have many plans in place to enable us to grow, evolve and flourish and we hope you will join us on this journey.
Over the coming days and weeks we will keep in touch with you by email and through our social media platforms with many self-care tips, affirmations and feel good quotes, which we hope will uplift and inspire you or if nothing else will keep you entertained!

However the days unfold and whatever comes our way we want you to know that we will be on hand to support each and every one of our customers as much as we can.
For those who are fit and well, we are open for appointments and are more than happy to welcome you through our doors for a little respite from the outside world.
For those customers who are sadly having to cancel appointments due to the many factors which place them into a ‘higher risk’ category, we will be providin...g support through our social media platforms and by regular email correspondence to give wellness guidance, self care tips and comfort.
We are also extending our support to our more vulnerable customers in offering our help to do grocery runs etc.
Through tragedy our community pulls together and through pulling together we grow stronger and learn to become the best version of ourselves ❤️

Due to the rapid outbreak of COVID - 19 we wanted to let you know that we are taking steps to ensure Amethyst is as much as possible a clean and safe place for you to visit and enjoy some respite from the craziness that is the world right now.

We pride ourselves on our level of hygiene at Amethyst and have taken further steps to ensure all our staff and clients are as safe as possible, these include asking clients to either wash there hands before treatment or use the hand ...sanitiser in reception and wherever possible having a shut down time after morning appointments and before afternoon appointments to deep clean our treatment rooms and communal areas.
. With the current spread of the Corona Virus, we would also like to ask that any clients who have returned from any affected areas, have been in the presence of any infected person or are displaying any cold and flu like symptoms to please call and reschedule your appointment.

Due to the close interactions we make on a daily basis, please be mindful that we look after clients who may have weakened immune systems, family members undergoing chemotherapy, and clients who have underlying health conditions, we all have family and friends we want to protect and we wish to continue looking after you in a safe environment.
