About Us
In October 1969 Mavis Booth founded the Mavis Booth School of Dance, which would become the predecessor of the AMK Dance Academy. It is initially a theatre dance school offering ballet, tap and modern jazz dance instruction to pupils age 3 yrs to 18 plus.
In 2005 after training within the school I, Adele-Marie Kaye took over and became the AMK Dance Academy.
I am continuing my studies to become an official IDTA Examiner.
My Qualifications include
West Yorkshire Junior Modern Champion
West Yorkshire Junior Tap Champion
Senior Yorkshire tap champion
Associate Ballet, Modern jazz, Tap achieved in 1985
Membership Ballet, Modern Jazz achieved in 1987
Fellowship Modern Jazz obtained 2012. Qualifies me to be an IDTA Adjudicator.
Various professional work over the years: Blackpool Opera House, Grand Theatre Leeds, International Cabaret and now also working in education
