On Saturday we were called out to another tree riddled with honey fungus.
Although this large silver birch was showing signs of growth, with some new buds showing, the base of its trunk was causing concern - being damp and easy to pull away. Due to the extent of the decay present, the tree had a limited life expectancy and was fast becoming a safety hazard. After felling it was clear to see the extent of the damage, spanning half the width of the tree.

These high winds are giving some people a nasty surprise!
Yesterday we were called out to a tree that had fallen on to a retaining dry stone wall. Its canopy was overhanging the slate roof of the house and had narrowly missed a greenhouse! Now, trees don't just 'fall over,' often there is an existing problem that makes them susceptible to strong winds. In this case, one side of the tree's root system had decayed from honey fungus, and the healthy side had been anchoring the t...ree into the banking until this 'glorious' British weather finally pulled it down.
As soon as we were able to start climbing, we managed to dismantle the tree - being careful not to damage the roof, greenhouse or any of the numerous BT lines that were involved.

**STOLEN HALIFAX, W.YORKS**
Less than one year since our work garage was broken into through the roof, Attwater Arb has been targeted once again, and two Timberwolf Wood Chippers have been stolen along with a large trailer.
Despite all of our best efforts to improve security and invest in a secure yard, unknown thieves seem intent on depriving us of these crucial pieces of equipment and threaten our livelihood.
... The loss of these chippers is devastating and has left me unable to work, having only just built my business back up from the last theft. I have a five month old baby girl and partner to support, and we were hoping to buy our first house this year, which is now impossible.
If you could share this status far and wide I would be extremely grateful. I have attached some photos of the two chippers below, one was a Timberwolf 150 tracked chipper on a Brian James Plant trailer and the other was a Timberwolf 190 DH.
