Recently visited with my husband for the Valentine’s Day menu, we were extremely lucky to have won a lovely meal through a Facebook competition. The service was great and the food was delicious, it wasn’t our first time we’ve been on many occasions in the past and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Phil the manager was great and really looked after us, our server Emma made sure our drinks were topped up and there wasn’t anything we needed. Banyan is always my favourite place to go for food and drinks. Thanks again for a lovely evening

User

Place looked good from the outside, went in through an open door (as you do) before 12noon. Met by grumpy chefs, asked what time did they open and got snapped back saying 12. Won’t go back plenty of other more friendly places.

Put your opening times on the car park door if you don’t want to speak nicely to people.

Lovely friendly place

Great drinks and food!! Sophie has been a fab waitress

User

Gorgeous food. Had the mexican powerbowl ....delicious( and healthy). Great staff. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

User

Fantastic service - we went for a ladies who lunch, a nice relaxed couple of hours. The staff did not rush us at all, they were very knowledgable in regards to gin, and the food menu.... the food was spot on and the bill total very reasonable ... will definitely be back ...

User

Fantastic menu, prompt service, friendly staff.....and the most amazing ice cream sundae!!! Nom nom nom!!

We really loved the atmospheres and decor, made more special by the wonderful booths. Definitely recommend a lunch time trip here x x

User

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon sharing a plentiful platter between 4 with some delicious sweet potato fries and a solid pint of pilsner! The staff were also warm and welcoming. Top family place!

User

Delicious and healthy vegetarian dish..falafel, butternut squash, lentils, halloumi and other things in there...no bread :) ..god I could eat it again now! Oh...salted caramel and choc torte for dessert. ..no wonder I put on weight!

User

Great new menu .. glad the bang Bang chicken has remained on the new menu .. starters were very poor portion wise for the £8 charge .. did leave feedback with the manager & he was a bit put out by this & said it was inflation??? .. always gone to kobe/Banyon over last 10 yrs as great atmosphere & fabulous cheerful waiting staff ..I wouldn't travel 15 miles to do lunch there if it wasn't x need to watch prices tho on new menu as also other new restaurants in the area that are offering competitive menus & lunch offers may steal your lunch Customers

User

Food and service was excellent. The music was a little too loud for a family meal out however ! No hope of a conversation especially for someone with hearing aids! Also a word of advice, tell the staff on booking if you have an elderly or disabled person with you so that they give you a table that doesn't require a ladder to get on the seat! Once we said something they quickly changed our table without any issue! Non the whole it was a great meal and they also arranged a little treat for our birthday girl!

User

Went for breakfast and the food was really good and the 2-4-£12.50 is a great deal. Unfortunately even though there were quite a lot of staff on duty it took me 10 minutes to get their attention to pay the bill because they were all too busy talking. Which is a shame because up to then it had been great and it wasn't that busy.

User

The portion sizes were very poor for the price and there was a lack of vegetarian options. I wanted to order a small dish of the asparagus, pea and goats cheese bruschetta only to be told it was only available with the sharing platter (why offer it as a small plate then?) The ladies loos were not very clean either. However on a good note the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

User

It's so not the same anymore. The portion sizes have got smaller & the prices have gone up. They don't have 241 cockails anymore & the food menu isn't as good as it use to be.

User

I went Sunday 1st October, around 4pm just wanted a Sunday lunch type food , also couple glasses of wine, the food was nice, and my wine was lovely, tho it was a very expensive Sunday lunch , there is a definite up graded on the prices this last year, since the refurbished Kobe, some parts of the bar was like a kindergarten as you walked in, and prams with new borns (crying) lovely not relaxing, the best way to eat here I think is use the offers, or avoid horsforth for less children input, not rushing back very over priced for what you actually receive in terms of portion size, along with ambience,

Maybe the price hike is about pensions for all employees now ?

Staff are nice

User

Great vegetable green thai curry, but then ordered what was supposed to be peanut butter cheesecake. It came and I asked if it was vegetarian, after waiting around ten mins the waitress came back and said ' the chef says as they are made off site, he cannot be sure but if they are made the same way he once made them then yes but we cannot be 100% sure' It did not taste of anything and as they didn't know if it was vegy or not I could not eat it. ( I was with others) Wouldn't rush back for food.

User

A little disappointed. Visited Kobe/Banyan numerous times and always book a booth. However last night we were given a table near the bar because no booths were available although I did make the booking 6 weeks previous. We arrived at 7pm and it was very busy, service was good as always but the music was far too loud and the seating area very cramped. Very difficult to hold a conversation with our friends because of the loud music. Our experience will not stop us returning because we usually have a better experience and will mark last night hopefully down as a one off.

User

Good atmosphere but the food was blow average. I had the Bang Bang Chicken Salad which looked like a bag of shredded cabbage that you could buy ready prepped from tesco, with some chicken breast on top and added to the some chilli slices. The menu said 'Chicken breast, shredded vegetables, cashews and peanuts, drizzled with a sesame, peanut and chilli dressing' but I got 2 cashew nuts, no peanuts and it was smothered in a really thick satay type sauce that tasted of peanut butter and not hint of sesame or chilli. Very disappointing & won't rush back to eat.

User

Went with my daughter for Father's Day brunch. Arrived at 11.00. My daughter asked for 2 different cold drinks from the menu - neither was available. I was brought a pot of tea. After 15 minutes waiting for the waitress to take our order, my daughter went to the bar where she waited a good 5 minutes without being spoken to. She then went to the till and placed our order with the waitress. We drank our drinks and waited for the food. At 12.00 another young lady came over and asked for our order. We said we were just waiting for the food we'd already ordered. She went away and came back to advise us It'd be another half hour before we were served. We stood up and walked out without paying. The manager didn't look up, obviously didn't want to know. I have NEVER been in a cafe or restaurant with such poor service. I would NOT RECOMMEND this establishment to anybody.

We subsequently visited a cafe along the street where we were served immediately by very friendly staff.
