Bell Plantation Garden Centre & Café Description

We love the great outdoors – gardening truly feeds the soul, all that fresh air, vibrant colours, tasty organic veg, not to mention BBQ’s and a cheeky glass of wine in the sunshine with friends! We have a simple purpose; to help, support and supply you with everything you need to make your garden look amazing, in a relaxed and enjoyable shopping environment.

Based on next to the A5 and A43 in Towcester, Northamptonshire our family run Garden Centre has been selling plants, garden supplies and giving advice to keen gardeners for over 20 years.

In our 200 square metre plant area and shop, we stock a wide range of plants, trees, shrubs, herbaceous, roses and anything else you want to put in your garden. Our popular gift shop sells cards, books, presents and clothing and our gardening shop stocks tools, chemicals and fertilizers, bird care, seeds and Christmas decorations in December.

All that shopping is bound to work up an appetite, so we’ve taken care of that too with our popular Plantation Café. Thinking of keeping chickens? Come and talk to our experts at the Poultry Centre.
We also have a range of other businesses operating from our site
• Grand Union Kitchens
• Beauty Spot
• My Little Vintage
• Northampton Reptile & Fish Centre
• Kinetics Gym
• Hot Tubs at Home
• The Poultry Centre

This garden centre is wonderful and getting better and better with all the effort the owners and their team are putting in. The cafe serves amazing reasonably priced food. Thay have a great range of plants and accessories and with the other stores on site it's well worth a visit.

User

Our most favorite place to visit on the way home!

User

My daughter and I went for lunch and it was great service and great food. We were in just after 3pm and noted closed at 3.30pm. We ordered our food baked potatoe and prawns with salad for my daughter and I had homemade scotch egg and salad v good. We were not rushed at all even ordering cake for afterwards and nice and relaxed not rushed at all. Rosy served us and was very professional and friendly (pleasant young lady). Well done team 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

User

Lovely place for plants and garden love to see the chickens etc. Great cafe with tasty 😋 food.

User

I attended the free lawn care talk, Steve was the best, very clear and precise, learnt lots, still a labour of love

Brought a Magnolia Tree and was given great advice by an on-site horticulturist

User

Hadn't been here before, took my mum n 2 little boys for lunch....it really needs to have something to deter the wasps, we were swarmed in the greenhouse part, we had to rush the boys and all our food n drink inside...to where the 6 wasps followed....wasn't relaxing at all....food was yummy, staff friendly, prices quite expensive, lovely surroundings.

I will say, although the pet shop was clean n very organised animals, I was extremely dissapointed to see the bearded dragons were way passed sexual maturity, housed together n one was clearly bullying the other 3, quite viciously!!!!

Had the best day ever today at 'Bell'. It was uber busy but the staff were as friendly and helpful as ever, both in the cafe and garden centre. Today's Christmas event didn't disappoint with lots of hut style stalls which didn't detract from the usual plants and wares. Lots of choice and style to suit all. The car park does get busy but have extra space too. The cafe is delightful, great menu and very welcoming.

Must give a shout out to the lovely Antiques centre. Favourite place if I'm being honest. Always find a bargain find or unique gift. Also love the fairly new Reptile centre too and Towcester brewery shop. Can't fault Bell at all well done to all there who make the visit a pleasurable one. Don't change anything!

User

This is a lovely place to call for lunch on our way back from London but be aware the price on the menu is WITHOUT VAT . When vat is added on at the end it make a sandwich don't pot of tea very expensive.

User

Lots of work going on but when it's all finished it will be a fab place to visit.

Cafe is lovely we sat in the large conservatory fab experience. Wraps were small but nicely filled.

Only one criticism my friend was asked the table number which did not have a number on it and she was snapped at by the cashier who was refusing to take the order....please ensure you have a table with a number on....rank fully my friend persisted and several checks by other staff confirmed the table DID NOT have a number. All other staff were lovely.

User

Had breakfast there wasn't impressed by big breakfast sausage was tasteless eggs wernt right wasn't much bigger than standard one waste o money won't be buying agaian as we regular visit son Nr there a lot plants was in a disarray put us of buying any we liked new conservatory a bit more thought loved pizza oven maybe a caffe bar in there may be next look forward to seeing what happens next

User

Came here yesterday for Father’s Day breakfast and saw they had a limited menu due to staff shortages (fair enough) we ordered our breakfast at 11:28 and it arrived at 12:40!! No explanation as to why it was so late and wasn’t told there would be such a long wait when ordered? Such a shame as we love coming here! Could have been offered a complimentary coffee??

User

I love the Bell Plantation great meeting place - this visit however I asked for a beef & mustard sandwich - lovely presentation. But there was enough mustard to sink a battle ship on it - should have sent it back but ended up scrapping it off so I did t ha e to wait again. Not a massive disaster - staff were friendly and helpful

User

Came here last year and thought it was a nice place. Returned at the weekend. What a disappointment. Plants all looked very sad. Not much choice and all needed some Tlc. It all looked very tired. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Cake selection in cafe was very poor. Our selections were very dry. Such a shame-not desperate to return.

However the lady working in the collectable shop was lovely-chatty and friendly. The rest of the staff-especially the girls in the cafe could do with taking a leaf out of her book.

User

Sadly it's lost its character. They've clearly spent a fortune trying to make it look like every other garden/leisure destination. And they've succeeded. The plants looked poorly cared for, the cafe has too many tables packed in, the farm shop is now just part of the main building and the vintage shop sells expensive tat. No desire to come back, which is a shame, as it used to be one of the best of its kind in the area.

User

Purely based on the cafe. 40 minutes for a portion of chips... should’ve gone McDonald’s instead

User

Brought my wife and daughter here to gave a lunch to order a brunch asked for a poached egg and mushrooms paid for the extra item to be told they don't do poached eggs but have had them for months to then be told can't gave mushrooms even after paying but got them in the end to then have my daughter of my eat half her brunch as it tasted if onions no onions on the plate tried to get attention of a member of staff to be ignored so a 1 star is lucky tempted to leave nobe
